Hello all,my pups are now 4 weeks old all are very healthy and strong, today when mom was getting out of the whelping box she kindove jumped on a pups leg, right after it hapned the pup started screaming alot and moving strange so I picked her up and held her for a bit and put her back with the other pups for her breakfast and she is eating fine putting a bit more weight on the leg but not 100% do you think I should wait to see how shes doing tonight or take her straight to the vet?I have never had a pup get hurt before till this litter.

Take her to the vet tomorrow

I had exactly the same happen to one of my pups, he was limping during the day but after a night of rest was good as new. I would give him til the morning and see how he is, if however he is still the same or you are worried then get to the vet. Hope everything is ok.
thankz all,you were right it's now been quite a whyle since she hurt her self and she seems much better now ,thankyou.
I had called the vet and she said the same thing just to give her some time.

i had something similar with one of my pups except it was me who stepped on the foot and the thing would only limp and carry on when it knew i was looking
i would wait and see unless there is obvious sign of a break or serious damage sometimes it is just a good bruise and its sore
Hi, my friends dog had a similar incident the bitch jumped into the whelping box and landed on one of the pups back, it turned out that it was broken and had to be pts, so sad they were 6 weeks old at the time. Good luck and fingers crossed for your baby.

If she seems to be improving it's hopefully nothing serious, but do as others have said and take her to the vet if she's no better tomorrow, and keep us posted!
Hi, well she's fine this morning no limping or anything I guess it was just bruised and sore.
Doguegone, thats awfull the poor little thing, Iam so scared of something like that hapaning to one of my pups I don't know how I would be in that situation.
Thankyou everyone for your help and concern:))

With minor bumps and bruising it is amazing how quickly they recover. It probably has something to do with the rate at which they are growing any way. They can have a knock in the morning and hop away screaming with no sign of injury by lunch time.
Always best to be on the safe side though and use common sense if you don't see a reasonably quick improvement.
