I have at the moment both my dogs insured with lloyds. However, m&s looks cheaper and pays out more- the only thing im worried about is that m&s say they wont pay out for anything to do with whelping- does that mean if god forbid a dog died during whelping they wouldnt pay me what the dog is worth?  Lloyds says it doesnt pay out for vet bills for whelping but doesnt mention it wont pay death benefit? does anyone know? i dont mind them not paying out vet fees for whelping/c section emergency treatment etc but if my dog died (cant bare to think about it) would they not pay up??

I'm with lloyds at the moment but am changing one dog over to M & S as they do a life condition cover, lloyds don't :( so unfortunately the other dog will be 'coverless' soon with a lifelong condition :(

As far as whelping is concerned you must ask the insurer specifically about it as most do not pay out on anything to do with whelping, i have asked several and they all said that whelping was not covered at all.  Chris
