I use as little shampoo as possible because I try to avoid bathing him. On the rare occasions I can't avoid it then I just use Paul Mitchell Shampoo One on him.
He rolls in all sorts of nasty substances too but sometimes a good brushing is all that's necessary especially since there's nothing so tempting to a freshly bathed dog as the chance to go and roll in something horrible to get rid of the smell of all that gurly shampoo!
What about puppies.....mine seems to be rather good at rolling about in her toilet area outside  and sometimes stinks!! I haven't got any shampoo and so have been using warm water. I haven't used anything of mine for fear of it being too harsh on puppy skin (14 weeks.)
Cheers
PAH do a puppy shampoo, used it last week and it works really well ... Floyds white bits were day-glo bright

Mine is still a puppy and I'm afraid to say that practicality had to outweigh sensitivity when he rolled in fox poo just outside my very house-proud sister in law's house. A soapy J-cloth did the trick nicely enough for him to be let back into the house!

I use groomers Evening primrose oil or Royal jelly shampoo and their tropical conditioner.I have never found any shampoo that are better than these two.The royal jelly is great when your dog is blowing coat,it also helps new coat growth to come in quickly and the EPO shampoo is great for allergy dogs.
Fluff there are plenty of mild or puppy grooming products available. I think the earlier you get them used to bathing the better! :)

trish-i just use the groomers primrose shampoo. To be honest, the smell doesn't last long (but then mine are always in muddy water!), but it keeps their coats soft for days. Until they cake themselves in muck and feel all gritty and dirty again! I tend not to wash mine too often, because theres little point given their desire for filth. I've lent it to my friend before, who has a rottie with skin problems, and she was really impressed. He looked fantastic after a bath with it, too. I've not used the coat spray-i was in pets at home yesterday (what a surprise), but couldn't see any.
melster122-i'd try
groomers primrose oil shampoo-groomers say
"this shampoo is designed to cleanse, soothe, and maintain scurfy and inflamed skin". You can buy it from pets at home and is about £4 i think.
I use Greenfields Puppy & Kitten shampoo on my CKCS. It's very mild and doesn't have any artificial perfumy smells.
Can anyone suggest a good shampoo for dandruff. My 5 month old cav Flynn seems to have bad dandruff. The vet suggested putting a little Flora in with his meals but it does seem to have made much difference.

Hi melster122. Harvey was just like Flynn with real bad dandruff. I tried loads of different shampoo's but found Sainsburys blue parrot cherry almond kids shampoo and conditioner in one works best - I use it on my children and thought that I'd just give it a go on Harvey and it's superb - smells gorgeous and makes his coat shine like glass! I've also recently changed his food over from JWB to Naturediet and I'm sure that this has helped his condition improve.
Hayley

I hae used both the Groomers Evening Primrose Oil and the Royal Jelly and had really good results with both :)

got the groomers evening primrose oil shampoo and spray as i was told it would help clear up dandruff, and the dog parlour use both of these on young pups mine is 6 months old now
Thanks for that. I have loads of new shampoos to try. Flynn is going to smell gorgeous.
I love shampoo's but I have to admit the best suited to my Cavaliers is Groomers just a shame they don't have the Crazy Dogs scents added to them as I love the Very Berry which my friend uses on her Cavalier, oh well beggars can't be choosers :-)

Try Crown Royale - excellent shampoo and a scent to die for!
Where would I purchase the shampoo?
