Are all Champ shows Crufts Qualifiers?  Sorry if it's a stupid question but being a newbie i'm still getting my head around all the rules & regs.  Thanks in advance :-)

Yes, but not necessarily for all breeds - only those with CCs on offer at the show. :)

And not all classes either!

I think the main classes that qualify are: Puppy, Junior, grad, Post Grad?(not sure on this one!), Open - not sure on Limit or Minor Puppy either!

I don't think Yearling or Novice are qualifiers or the special classes?

I'm quite new too (only started last year) so I'm sure will get corrected from someone who knows better than me!

The qualifying classes are
Minor Puppy, Puppy, Junior, Yearling, Post Graduate, Limit and Open. Also, at Open shows, Best in Show, Reserve Best in Show and Best Puppy in Show. (Not Reserve Best Puppy in Show) The Open shows have to be all breeds Shows. Not single breed.
At Crufts it is a 1st in any class that qualifies for the next year. Junior Warrants and Stud Book numbers qualify you for life.(Or should I say qualify your dog)!

The breeds with CCs have to have CCs on offer for the Champ show to be a qualifying show.

If you go to the KC site & onto the Crufts page for exhibitorsit gievs all the details

The rules differ from Band to band for Yearling & Veteran & stud book number awards

why is it only 1st at crufts that qualifies you for next year ? surely its the same as any other champ show

I think that it's the first three of the regular qualifying classes and the first of the other classes as well - the ones that usually wouldn't count (Yearling etc).

We qualified for Crufts the following year, having gained 2nd place in puppy dog.......

i. First, Second or Third in Minor Puppy Class
ii. First, Second or Third in Puppy Class
iii. First, Second or Third in Junior Class
iv. First, Second or Third in Yearling Class (For Breeds in Stud Book Band E only - see list below)
v. First, Second or Third in Post Graduate Class
vi. First, Second or Third in Limit Class
vii. First, Second or Third in Open Class
viii. First, Second or Third in Veteran Class

The above is for any champ show with CCs on offer

A win in any class at Crufts even classes not included above also qualifies the dog as well ed Novice, Graduate etc
