Hi all please help
Just had blood results back testing me for allergies. I was a vegeterian but now I have allergies to eggs, all milk proteins (including sheep and goat), yeast, fungi, rice, pasta and nuts!
For 2 days I have lived on rice cakes and apples, I don't know what to eat as everything seems to have yeast or lactose in it:mad: My life is over I cannot eat chocolate:eek:
Any advice out there as I am fading away.

Oh dear Tippytoes,
that is a hard one to get to grips with. How ever I'm sure given time and the correct diet you will again have the ability to absorb all these foods which you have become intolerant to. What about corn pasta? What about buckwheat pasta? Not as much fun as chocolate but they will fill you up. I find the buckwheat pasta lighter to digest and more tasty than gluten pasta. The corn pasta can be a bit tricky not to over or undercook but at least it's another option. What about polenta? Can  you still take Tofu and olive oils? It's the worst time of year to be on a restricted diet when it's so cold and miserable outside. I am also a "veggie" and would find it very hard to give up cheese in the Winter months. D'you like pulses and beans, things like chickpeas and blackeye beans etc. ? Maybe start to eat lots of avocados! Coconut milk, fresh coconuts, mangos , HTH.

Thank you for all the advice. I will check on the website. Hopefully I can get an appointment with the nutritionist in the next couple of weeks. I love soya products, but have been told I can't eat them:eek: If I can find vegan chocolate, my happiness and waistline will be restored :D

For 2 days I have lived on rice cakes and apples,

Er - if you're allergic to rice then it would be best to cut out the rice cakes as well ;) you could try corn cakes and crispbreads, look in the gluten-free section in supermarkets and health food shops.  If this was a mistake and you can have rice then Shär do the most wonderful pastas and spaggetti - it's hard to distinguish from the real thing and cooks just the same :)

Chocolate - Green and Blacks do the most wonderful milk, gluten and wheat free bars of chocolate, the best I've ever tasted :D

You should have been seen by a hospital dietician after your diagnosis, if this hasn't happened and you haven't got an appointment then ring them and ask for one.  You will need suppport of a dietician while you get used to this new diet, they will be able to give you a diet sheet and a full list of foods you can eat, they may even have some products for you to try and cards to send off which will lead to freebies!!

Hope this helps, its really daunting when you first have to restrict your diet and aren't sure what you can eat, but it will get easier with time - honestly :)
