Read this Leigh, absolutely amazing, but what impressed me as much as the dogs stamina was the fact that he had navigated across the channel and up the river towards his home!!!
A truly heartwarming story. He'll make the perfect tri-athlete once he can get a bit of speed up on his bike !

And being a Lab, he's probably eager to get right back in the water  :)
Ah, I just love a happy ending. Makes tears come to my eyes (sob)

sniff......sniff
Its just so great that he managed to get back to Beaulieu; all that way!!!
I'm so glad i wasn't on a ship or a yacht....imagine, as a dog lover, seeing that courageous black head bobbing in the water as he swam past.....and wondering what happened to him.
I bet his owner's just totally elated :)

Owner & Todd were in the local paper (Echo) pictured this week.
Owner has a garage/car sales in Southampton.
It was also in the Daily Mail this week.

Do you think *any* dog could do this or would you say that it's because he's a working dog and he along with his owner take part in half marathons etc? It is a truely amazing story either way:) The navigation/ homing instinct always amazes me- my nan had a black tom cat called 'Joe' and when she moved from Selby in York to Sheffield the cat managed to escape and turned up a few months later back at her old address in Selby:o His claws were a little worse for wear but that was probably due to him having to catch his own food! Amazing all the same eh:)
