Topic Dog Boards / Breeding / "In season" nappies

Thoughts please. This year I will be taking my bitch to a stud dog in Cumbria so thought as we will need 2 matings maybe make it into a little break for us and if my bitch cannot stay at the stud kennels then we will need somewhere to stay that allows dogs.
The thing is that I cannot possibly have her dripping on the floor of a guest house. Has any of you been in this situation and do "in season" nappies work or can you think of anything else I can do?
Thanks, Aims

I've just put bitch pants (it's not like nappies, it's like a pair of knickers you put a panty liner inside) on my bitch as I got fed up with wiping blood off the floor, and it does make a big difference. But all depends on whether she will keep them on! Mine does! :)

I use bitch knickers for mine too, she looks ridiculous but they work. Obviously they can't wear them all day every day as it's not hygenic to never allow any air flow! :-)

The one I tried them with wouldn't keep them on and they were in her mouth every time I turned my back.  She did look funny with a pair of pants in her mouth and a "look at me" expression on her face though!

Maybe you could find a guesthouse with wooden floors, then you can do a bit of dabbing up instead?!

Hopefully the Guest House will have dark carpets as well ;) I would also double check that they do not have an entire dog or they are having other guests that have as well .

Take a bottle of carpet cleaner type stuff (can't think of any specific brand as brain is not in gear) and then if there are any visable marks just clean then up :)

I have used pants with a hole in for the tail when my girls were in season when I had carpets. They did keep them on but under sufferance  :D
