Hello, I have been reading alot of your posts over the last few weeks with interest. I have a ckcs, she is now 8mths old. We have no trouble with her at the moment. The reason im writing is out of interest on how you are doing with pulling on the lead problem. Our pooch, ellie, has been an angel up to a couple of weeks ago when it looked as if we were going down the same path with the pulling thing. We invested in a walkezee harness, absoloutely amazing item. It doesnt stop the pulling, but for some reason she is much more relaxed with the harness on and so doesnt feel the need to pull anymore. It doesnt replace the training though obviously, but like i said she is more relaxed. I dont know why she suddenly had the urge to start pulling as from day one she walked beautifully. I put it down to the teenage phase you hear so much about. She is coming into her first season too, which i believe can be a testing time. I would love to hear how things are going with Harvey. Like i said i have read most of your postings but never got the courage to write before. Ellie is from the Leelyn line aswell. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Hi,
Harvey is doing really well now thanks. I ditched his extendable lead straight away and have been using the stop/start method when he begins to pull. His recall is 99% better now thanks to onetwothree's sound advice on calling him around the house and using little cubes of low fat cheese as rewards - now, all I need to do is shout 'Harvey here' and he's by my side like a shot! He's adorable and not an ounce of trouble. Ellie sounds just as sweet. Where abouts are you in Lancs if you don't mind me asking? I'm in Preston

Just butting in here, I've got a Cavalier Ellie too, she's 14 months old. She's so sweet, always wants to be by my side! Now my 2 boys on the other hand, they can be a bit naughty, but not my little girl! :-)
My cavalier Flynn is a bit of a nightmare at the moment LOL He has his good days and his bad days but at the moment he is just so cheeky!!!! We love him lots and lots though
Hello melster123. How old is Flynn. Lovely name by the way. Ive a soft spot for the Flynn off Home and away, sad i know. I think cavalier and cheeky should belong in the same sentence but yeah they are gorgeous my heart melts at the sight of one. Nice to meet you by the way and thankyou for taking the time to read and reply.

thank you for your input too Lucyd. Its so good to know so many people are as in love with their cavs as i am. I didnt know any dogs by the name of Ellie before we got her thats why we chose it, but since having her it seems theres so many now cool or what. Are your boys both cavaliers too. Do you know if i woke up tomoz and owned lots of cavs (obviously with a huge house and field too) I would be in seventh heaven . Ok going now before i get too mushy. Nice to meet you all.

Hi Julie,
One of my boys is a Cavalier, the other's an American cocker. Loads of pics on my website (click on my user name!) Any pics of your Ellie? I adore my dogs, specially the Cavs it has to be said - the Yankee's more my OH's dog, though I do love him. But the Cavs are so special, particularly my beautiful Henry! I could stare into his eyes forever!! :-)
Lucy
Hi lucy, iwill be having a good look on your website in a minute. Im a dunce when it comes to putting pics on here havent a clue how to do it. I dont get much time on the pc to figure everything out at once but i will put some time aside tomoz to give it a go.
I know what you mean about the cavvies eyes, makes my heart melt everytime, she seems to throw me those eyes when im on here though which does make me feel awful.
thanks for the info on your doggies.
bye for now julie

Thankyou for getting back to me Luvhandles.I am sorry i have only just come back on and read your reply, forgive me. I did sit for a while waiting to see if you were around but had to go and get evening routine of bed and wees sorted, which gave my eldest the chance to hijack the pc.
I was advised when Ellie was tiny to use the extendable lead, what a huge mistake. Im glad you ditched yours aswell. I see everything as a learning curve at the moment. I do understand they help with recall and allowing them more freedom but it just confused my baby. This site is sooo informative but i do come off sometimes with my head spinning coz everyone has differing opinions to so many subjects. Recall has always been relatively easy as everything else except for the little glitch with the pulling which im happy to see is way in the past, thanks to some patience and determination and of course the walkezee. ( I am a huge fan and think i should be on commission as im raving about it sooo much haha)
I am in Leyland by the way. Thankyou again for updating me on Harveys progress, its a bit daft to say but like i said i always make a point of looking for any new post from you and feel like i have got to know him slightly through this site. From all the past posts he sound equally adorable but then hes a cavvie so he has the edge.!!
Hi Iluvacav,
Flynn is 5 months old and is a Blenheim. The reason we chose the name Flynn is because it means son of a redhead and my husband was redheaded before he went bald and grey ( I have a soft spot for Flynn from Home and Away too LOL).
oh that makes sense now melster122. Funny my daughter is a redhead with the temper to go with it. Thought it was a sterotype but the saying is true, firey redhead!
All these baby cavs are sending me into a pile of goo. Ellie seems to be losing all the puppy look at once, she is still so cute but is looking like a proper lady now.Ellie is a blenheim too, more red than white and very furry already.
bye for now
julie
