I was at a show at Ardingly today and had my boys in their canine camper fabric crate, and when I came out of the ring with Alf - it had collapsed  the back end had gone right over and on further examination, the wire at the back had snapped :( now there was no way Fagan could have done that so either someones rather heavy dog jumped on it (it was next to the labrador ring) or someone lent on it  Im really fed up now, ive already had to send my 2nd one in 3 months back to croft because it warped, and now the one I thought was really sturdy has broken beyond repair.  So thats two new fabric cages I need now, I was going to see if I could claim that one off my house insurance.  I was thinking about going for the ones with the poles in, thought they might be sturdier.

Why cant people respect other peoples stuff

Lousy luck Claire :( :( :(  I've got both kinds (well several kinds to be exact  ) and certainly from the frame point of view the ones with poles are sturdier but then the actual canvas or mesh is weaker - so it's still a bit of a gamble as someone else's dog could still badly damage the other kind too    Unfortunately there are just some plain thoughtless folks out there- they may be a minority but not much consolation if it happens to you.

Chin up, Teri

Bad luck Claire. Must say I gave up on fabric crates after my boy learned he could scratch holes in them. We still have a big one for long car journeys as my OH can't stand the rattling, but at shows I have to lug round the heavy metal ones again. :-(

Thats the thing, my boys are good as gold in them, which is why im happy using one - its other people

Ah well, I will check my house insurance later and im going to order them a new one each, ones with poles, everyone had them today at an open show and they look really sturdy, now all ive to do is find a website which sells them !!

A metal one for two Setters is damn heavy !!

I was at portsmouth today, Alf isnt in puppy anymore so it wouldnt have been him in your friends class - although he did get first in his breed class :)

Its still blonde, just a bit darker, with bits of red and light blonde in it - sounds awful but its not, honest !

what I omitted to say was we were the only ones in the class  :D

In Alfs defence though the judge really liked him and said how much she had been waiting to get her hands on him, she practically thanked me for bringing him

I was really annoyed that the other two didnt turn up, that cost us a point   They were the same two who didnt turn up at Ardingly yesterday.  I think I did see you Rachel, at Ardingly in the ring, but you must have gone as soon as you came out because I couldnt find you.

That was nice of the judge wasn't it!  What a pain when you don't have the numbers!

Oh sorry - I did peek around for bumping soft crate but Max needed the loo - hence not standing still for love nor money!  and why we rushed out!  And the kids were already fed up - so cramped in there Saturday - it's much better when the weather is nice and it's outside - come on Spring!

How did you do at Ardingly?  The ring was sooooo small wasn't it!  So were you only in your class at Ardingly too?

Are you at Ardingly this Sunday - Horley?  Will maybe look out for you then! :)

Only got Max entered as no puppy class (Hamish not doing too well at the mo in puppy so no way to Junior classes - think he's got some maturing to do!)

ahh, i thought your puppy was lovely :)  It was really busy in there on Saturday I had to move about 5 people to get my dogs out of the crate. We got a 2nd in our class which I was happy with as although there were only 3 in the class they were quality dogs which are always in the line up at champ shows.  I was pleased the rings were small as it gave me a good excuse not to move Alfie too fast and therefore not showing his strange rear end movement ;)

I will be at Horley next weekend, dont look out for the crate though :(  I will just be hanging around by the ring with Alf I expect, im usually wearing a "Bench" tracky top, im just entered in Junior and AV junior (although I dont usually hang around for the AV classes if they are a long way off)  looks like you are first in the ring, there is no order other than that so I suppose I will have to turn up first thing

Thanks - Hamish is a bit 'flat' when it comes to moving at the mo though!  Need to figure out how to get those legs moving - and couldn't really get Max moving either with the ring size?!  Never mind - you win some you lose some!!

Will look out for the Irish Setter in some fancy clothes maybe!!!  bless him!

Well done with 2nd!

Promise to look around for you!  Might get some more detailed running order in the papers this week - I'll let you know if I see anything.
