Does anyone know the tel no of the dog warden for Stanley Park Liverpool. Just come back from the park and what an ordeal. There was a stray Jack Russle cross terrorising all other dogs. It chose to home in on Gabi. Now you all know how Gabi is not always friendly towards other dogs and we have put a lot of time and money in trying to get her out of it. After half hours pestering by this dog ( nose up her bum and then trying to hump, it was me saying to Gabi "see it off" but no. Once she had had enough she came close to me looking for protection and I tried to see it off. This nark stood its ground and barked at me viciously. We headed for the exit to the park I thought this dog would not follow but it did. Fortunateley we only live 5 mins from the park, so we hot footed it home. The dog followed us right to our doorstep and spoilt our walk. I would like to report it as this could be a regular occurance. No wonder you see owners walking their dogs with a stick in the other hand. One day I saw an owner with a Rottie who had a baseball bat!!

Just ring your local council and ask for environmental services.

Phone your local environmental health dept at the council they will either give you the number of the dog warden or contact him for you.

Bloody annoying isn't it.
This happened to me a few weeks back, dog just would not stop trying to hump mine. Tried to carry on with our walk but in the end gave up and headed for home. But do you know what was even worse? The owner of this nuisance was with this dog, but some distance ahead and just kept walking in the hope that dog would follow.
When i neared the entrance to the field where a busy road is, with dog still trying to hump mine, the owner was still about a mile up the field, paying no attention to the fact that his dog was about to run out into a busy road.
Lucky for him it didn't, it spotted another dog and headed off to pester this one! Unbelievable.

How horrible. I took a class from a behaviourist who walks with a water pistol. He just gives unwanted attention seekers a good spray in the face. He said it usually worked and it doesn't cause any real harm to the dog.

Woa!  That's pretty extreme thing to do to a dog, and likely to cause a dog to connect on lead dogs with being sprayed - not likely to encourage sociable behaviour :(
