Hi all,

It's the first time i am going to Crufts this year and im really excited!
Although im not entering my dog, we are going to watch and i can't wait!
Really im just after some information about it all as i have never been before.
Is there a guide or something i can get telling me whats on and where - is this something i can get before i go or do i get it on the day, i don't want to miss anything!
Also in regards to the NEC how far away is it from Birmingham Centre, i think we will be staying there and we are not taking the car so is it easy to get to and from?

Oooh good questions.. i'm going for the first time this year, just on the Sunday - SOOO excited, but like you said want to make the most of it.  Let's hope someone's got some good tips!!

If you go on the kennel club website you can go to the section all about crufts. Here it'll tell you everything you want to know including schedules for the days dog showing. If you are staying in a hotel book NOW. I am having to stay near Tamworth as everywhere that was reasonably priced was booked up.
The NEC has a decent park and ride and is about £7 for parking I think - not sure how far birmingham is away but the NEC has good transport links to it so it should be a doddle to get to.

Trains run from Birmingham straight into the NEC. Probably cheaper than having to pay the £8 parking fee.

The NEC can be hot and cold at the same time depending on what part you are in so take a coat/jumper that you can take off easily. As far as planning the day I always print off the programmes that can be found on the KC website closer to the date...allthough as a rule I generally do shopping in the morning before it gets too crowded and watch judging in afternoon (usually tollers and welsh springers). If you are going on a day that is not the sunday and want to go in the main ring for the group judging....get there and start queing 1/12 - 2 hours before they start allowing people in at around 5pm - It gets pretty full very quickly!

Birmingham city centre is about 15-20mins from Bham New Steet to Bham International station and probably the cheapest option. Buses arent frequent and parking/taxis are expensive.

The train is by far the better way - cheap and its all moveable floors so you dont have to even walk from Bham international to the halls!
