Anyone know of any reasonably priced insurers?
After my recent experience I am definitely getting my dogs insured.
Hi,
Try the supermarkets- Tescos, and Sainsburys do dog insurance, and it is reasonably priced. I'm with Sainsburys, and have no complaints, they pay out quite promptly. And a friend of mine is with Tescos, and says they're brilliant.
Best of luck at the vets this afternoon.

I used to have my 2 with Pet Plan (i have a Lurcher aged 9 & a GBGV aged 18 months)
Recently the policy's came up for renewal and i changed them to Sainsburys, for near enough the same level of cover as Pet Plan offered i'm making a saving of about 12.00 a month between the 2.
I've yet to make a claim from them (fingers crossed i don't have to) but i have a friend who is also with Sainsbury's and when she claimed it was all sorted out quickly and easily.
Hope this helps a bit.
My friend has recently give me the website address of animal friends (www.animalfriends.co.uk) and they do seem very competitive for lifetime cover. Don't know what their customer service is like with claims though, perhaps someone else has had experience.

Animal friends is underwritten by E & L. If you want to know more, PM me.

If you do a search on this site, I think that you'll find Marks & Spencer have consistant favourable reports.

Thanks people.
So glad that someone else has started this thread up as I was about to launch one myself before we get our puppy in April :-D
I had been erring between M&S and Petplan, so any more comparisons between these two greatly received - I note already that those of you with M&S seem happy with the cost of it - is it as thorough as Petplan for life??
Thanks

We are with M&S as well. Our puppy came with 6 weeks free insurance from Pet Plan and the premium quoted to continue it was around £24. We eventually signed up with M&S as we have no excess and pay £14 ish a month. I did note in their policy that once a pet reaches 8 years of age we would also have to pay 15% of the vets bill as well. The premium varies depending on the part of the country you live in - with the south and London being the most expensive.

Hi I am with M & S. I think they are excellent. I insured my pup last year and within 2 weeks of insuring her she broke her leg. Vet bills came to over £2000 but M&S paid out extremely quickly and were polite and efficient, I would definitely recommend them.
