am searching for a new bathroom suite and am nearly there...I think!  However debating whether to go for the whirlpool option or not.  Have had opinions from colleagues in work any more?

Cheers

Don't talk to me about bathrooms - we are doing up three at the moment (well, two full bathrooms and one with shower cubicle, loo and basin). Ordering everything for them was a nightmare - it's worse than doing the kitchen :D We haven't gone for a whirlpool or jacuzzi - just powershowers (Aqualisa Digitals) in each.

Never had one of those whirpool thingies but there was one on How Clean is Your House and it well and truly put my mam off getting one :D The cr** that came out of the filters was gross and I know it would be on that program but it still must get all gunked up! Sorry if anyones eating!
We've just changed our downstairs bathroom into a shower room and its fab! Our old shower broke in August 2004 so we had to have baths from then on, and I HATE baths! Still only have not even half of the house done and we moved here almost 4 years ago  !

We have just redecorated the bathroom yet again. We now have a nice beech laminate floor and light beige walls with a new bamboo blind and other fittings. We fitted a standard bathroom not so long ago.Didnt go for anything posh as the family are still young and no doubt a nice bathroom wouldnt last long. :)

Wow, you have the luxury of a blind...thats the only thing we still have to get! Our shower room is downstairs and next to the drive so I've stuck lots of sheets of A4 paper up in the window so no one can peer in..newspaper would have just spoiled the look LOL

:rolleyes:Its easier to shower a dog than to bath one so i think you have made the best choice. :D

if you change your mind about the whirlpool bath a word of warning be careful how much bubble bath you put in, my son stayed at his nan and grandads and they have one well he thought it was the bees knees, but he wasnt very popular with them as when they went to see if he was getting out the bath as he had been in there ages they had a hard job finding through all the bubbles, they make him have a shower now if he stays!

There are 2 types of whirl pool. THe ones that have water perminantly in the system and get all stagnant, or the type that push air through the water, these are much easier to keep clean, although if you have hard water the jets have to be cleaned out regually - the best way is with a paper clip and a lot of patience. Also not fab if you use the shower over a lot as that will also tend to block them up. Havign said that I use mine with very hot water and aromatherapy oils to scent the room and bed room, especially good if you have a cold.

I've got an amazing spa bath.  It's huge and has a whirlpool and an air system that blows warmed air through the water so the bath doesn't go cold as soon as you start using it.  It's got a built in disinfection system, different types of water massage, remote control (don't use that), underwater lighting and it blow dries itself when you let the water out.  I spend a lot of time in the bath :D
