I have to have abby pts tomorrow, Some of you know of all the problems she has had over the last year and a half, now she has got to the stage where she doesnt have the life I would want for her, she is in a lot of pain and I always said once that happened then I would do the right thing but it feels like someone has punched a hole in my chest and ripped my heart out.

Thank you all for your kind words. Knowing we are doing the right thing doesnt make it any easier, I feel she is still very much a baby she is only two. We have the last appointment of the day tomorrow so I can stay as long as I want with her as someone is always on site to look after the dogs who have to stay overnight.

I know there is nothing any of us can say to ease your pain right now, but you should take comfort in the fact that she has such a happy and loving life with you,even if it has only been short.
You have given her more love in her short life than some dogs get in their long lives.

I'm so sorry - it's never an easy decision and to me it never seems fair when a dog has to be pts well before their time. I lost both my girls last year, one suddenly and unexpectedly at 71/2 that took any decision out of my hands and her mum aged 11. It was bad enough having to make that decision for an old dog who'd had a long and healthy life, so I can only imagine what you're going through.

If it's any consolation I cried like a baby in front of the vet, but time will help how you feel now and though you'll always miss her, you'll soon only remember the good times you had together.

Thank you all I just cant stop crying, everyone at the vets know Abby and when I had to book her in for tomorrow the head nurse was in tears as they know how much we have been through in the last year. I know its for the best but it hurt so much, the children are heart broken. I have organised for my friend to do some distance Reiki for Abby when we go to the vets to help with her passing, I know she will be going to a better place where she doesnt have to be in pain anymore.
