raw chicken and boiled potatoes, thats what fattened up my girl. she went from 36 kilos 5th dec to 42 kilos 5th jan, 50 kilos 27th jan. mind you she gets 400grams chicken, 100grams potatoes 3 times a day.
She is now on a diet ;)

I thought you could get it frozen from pets at home

Many pet stores will have blocks of frozen tripe. Don't cook it unless you like your house stinking!

Dee, what breed of dog do you have?  I'm trying to fatten my boy up too but you've certainly had good results.  The last line of your post really made me chuckle :D

The best tripe for fattening is the whole tripe lumps. Uncooked so it still retains all of the goodness, but defrosted! I did it with a foster dog that we had a few yrs ago.

I get it completely whole, from my  BARF supplier. Within a month, disregarding any medical probs, there will be a definite improvement :)

Hi Chalkey, she's a leonberger.
She had been so skinny for months, you could see her backbone and her ribs, (due to illness not neglect btw ;) ) then a friend suggested I put her back on raw chicken. I could see the difference in only two weeks, but hopefully she is getting more stable now and so I can cut down ;)

Dee

PS tripe is good too, just that she can't eat it :)
