Blasphemy is being rude about or disrespecting God. How can thanking Christ be rude or disrespectful? However, why I feel that freedom of speech is being attacked here is that my belief in that God doesn't exist would be deemed blasphemy of the highest order. By the comments made no-one, other than those of a monotheistic faith can make comments about their beliefs on this board asd anythingelse would be deemed offensive.
I respect other peoples beliefs but I feel that someone thanking Christ being called a blasphemer (if that's a word) is going a bit too far.

True - as is taking His name in vain.  Why you are intent on perpetuating this argument is beyond me    All it serves to do is cause ill feeling which was neither the intent of the poster who used the term nor my respectful request to refrain from doing so.

For the record, I have never condoned disrespect towards anyone's beliefs - each to their own - but it is IMO worth making an effort to avoid upsetting anyone's sensitivites in any area (something I don't always achieve).

blasphemy, n: Definition: irreverence

Avoiding giving offence is simply good manners. :)

People around here are so scared of Dobermans, I doubt anyone would attempt to kidnap my Dobe from me.

No, I dont think anyone would try to kidnap mine either. They would have to be mad, bad or seriously deranged! Mind you, some of them are, you know Katie!!!!! Maybe I am misguided in some way but i feel 100% safe with my boy. I do walk at night too but if he see's any stranger, he is extremely watchful. I guess no one is ever totally safe though.

I feel safe with my Dober girl as well :) Especially at night when she curls up on the duvet beside me ;)

I really like the look of a doberman.I have no knowledge of them so i wouldnt own one but they are regal looking animals.Do you get much dog hair on the carpets from them  They are short coated so i wouldnt imagine it was that bad. The colouring is wonderful and the way they stand is real eye catching too. Lovely breed of dog. :)

Awww :)

Dobies lose hair, too, but because it's so short, it's really not that bad, it's mostly visible if I wear a white Tshirt and cuddle with her, then I can see the dog hair on the fabric.

That must be the worse thing about being owned by two big, hairy GSDs.......dog hairs. No matter what we do we never seem to be able to get them all out of the carpet. The only we have found that is sucsessful is on hands and knees with a damp floor cloth and kind of scoop them up.Even the well known brand of vacume cleaner that aledgedly picks up dog hairs doent seem to work.Perhaps ill shave the dogs :DOr trade in for a Dobie then :D

Hi Guiness,
I have a Dobe now but my previous dog was GSD. In comparison, I would say the Dobe doesn't malt at all lol. It also amazes me at how much fur a shepherd can loose but still have a fantastic thick coat lol. I used to quite often look like I had GSD trousers on and thats after being groomed!!
