Hi folks,

Not sure if this is a sily question or not ...

Love the wooden Roman (slat) blinds, but I'm aware that they cut out a fair amount of light. Now that the 2" slats seem to be common, do these cut out less light than the 1"? Presumably if the slats are wider, the space between them is also wider and they should let more light in?

Does anyone know a proper answer to this, rather than me hypothesising?

Well, all I can tell you is that although my blinds are white, the 2" definately seems to let in more light than the 1" slats when open.
never really given it much thought before :P

I have the 2" wooden blinds and I can't really say about the light - doesn't seem to be a problem but if I want more light then I just pull them up!  One thing though - DUST MAGNETS!!! and not easy to dust either even with those new disposable dusters.  But they do look  lovely - you can get some many different colours too - we got a deep red as our room is cream with red sofa's so they contrast against the wall lovely.

Hope this was of some help!

We used to have the wodden blinds and light never seemed to be a problem. One thing I would point out though, is if you have radiators underneath your windows, we found the heat seemed to cause the slats to warp so even when they were closed, there was still slight gaps.
Just something to take into consideration :)
