There is a new series, starting on ITV tonight, which is a sequal to the Colin Dexter Morse series, with Kevin Whately as the now-promoted Inspector Lewis.
I shall watch it with interest :)

I've set the video to record it just in case I get called away, from the clips it looks good & I do like our Kevin ;)
ooh might be worth a look, be intersting to see if Kevin Whately can carry it off without John Thaw.

He was good when he played a "baddie"in Trip Trap
Funnily enough I've only recently got really into Morse, and have been watching the repeats on Saturdays or recording them.
I will definitely watch Lewis - I think Kevin Whately is a good actor, we'll see what happens ... :)

I'll certainly be watching. I thought Morse was brilliant, so it'll be interesting to see how they change the 'feel' of it. A Morse-wannabe would be disappointing; it's got to move forward.

Brilliant! Just what I wanted. :)
I can't believe I fell asleep during the last part!!

Can anyone please tell me what happened and "who dunnit?! :P

Not that impressed as still hold as Morse still holds a very special place in my heart :)
If there are anymore episodes keep an eye in the background for me walking along muttering under my breath telling myself I must get myself another job soon :D :D
I walked the length and breadth of Oxford whilst they were filming

Not bad - but as Lucy says, Morse is still the best!
Some nice touches though!

So who though Lewis was going to visit Morses grave, but it was Lewis's wife?
I enjoyed it, the refs to Morse were needed.

Morse doesn't have a grave because he left his body to medical science. ;)

That's what he said in the episode where he died. He also said there was to be no funeral or memorial service.
Some of the links to Morse were very good - the 'Endeavour' scholarship, for example. :)

I see that Colin Dexter is still keeping a "walk on" part - just as he did in the Morse series. (he was a bowler-hatted porter in last night's episode).

I had thought that it wasn't going to be any good - but I was pleasantly surprised :) I liked the new side-kick, Hathaway :) Adds some 'Morse' brains to Lewis', somewhat, plodding style :)

Well I thoroughly enjoyed it and hope the ratings were good as I 'd like to see more.
Claim to fame - I was an extra twice in Morse when I was a student. They gave you £30 and a meal a day! I got to escort JT across Oxford - he was a real gent, so charming.

JT was my hero and used to have naughty dreams about him

:D
I can imagine he was a gentleman in real life ;)

I could never really fancy him because he looked very much like my Dad! :D :D
LOL Lucy!!! I was at school with a girl who really fancied him, which I thought odd as he was old enough to be her granddad never mind Dad!

However, he was utterly charming - we chatted about a play I'd seen him in and got all artistic like - and he did have the twinkliest blue eyes!!!

K

i loved it! & it will get better as it goes on. i liked lewis' sidekick

LOL I do a TV survey daily saying what I have watched etc & gave it an extra good write up :D so here's hoping for more :D

good!
i thought it was going to be the girl doing the killing! DOH!!nice twist at the end.
