Driving to work today round the ringroad (which is a national speed limit dual carriage way) I noticed the cars ahead swerving around something, when I got close I saw it was a big black and white cat, lying dead on the road :( I fought with my consience all the way to my turn off and at the last minute carried on to the roundabout and turned round and went back up the other way then turned round again back the way I had come originally, when I got to the cat, as it was rush hour, there was no way I could pull on the hard shoulder bit as I would never beable to cross the road, and as there was nothing behind me I put my hazards on and pulled in as tight as I could to the central reservation (leaving enough room for cars to get past me if they didnt spot me in time.) Poor puss cat was still floppy when I picked him up :( I didnt have anything to put him in so I just laid him in the boot, he didnt have a collar so I took him to the nearest vets, they were everso greatful and took my details just in case they needed to contact me. I hope his owner thinks to phone round the vets when they realise he is missing, I know how sad it is losing a cat on the road, I lost mine last summer, but to not know what has happened must be worse :(
I shed a tear on my way to work for him, poor boy.
run free big black and white puss :(
