what is safe to use to clean inside of puppies ears? do I need the packs of ear wipes or is there anything else I can use? my pup seems to get her ears into everything.
I remember reading about a solution you could make up for ear cleaning a while ago when I was looking for a friend of couse I cant find it again now I need it lol

A solution comprised of 50/50 percent vinegar and water.  Fill the ear canal with this solution and massage.  Trust me, do this outside.  :-)  Then clean the ear with a cotton ball or, if you know what you're doing, with cotton swabs (Q-Tips).

I use a mixture of  15 ml of glycerin, 15ml of cooled boiled water and 6 drops of tea tree oil.

I put the mixture in the outer part of the ear, (be careful that it doesn't go into the actual ear canal if they are short prick ears) unlike my lop eared breed and massage for several minutes, then I just wipe out with a damp tissue. If there is a persistent problem, then I do this every other day for a week. :)

I got told tea tree oil can have an adverse affect on dogs... it is such a strong substance.?

If you just mean the ear leather rather than the ear canal, baby wipes work just as well as the ear wipes you can buy and cost a lot less.

There should really be no need to clean the inside of a healthy dog's ears, but if you do then Colloidal Silver is excellent as it is a brilliant cleaner, non toxic (can be used internally), does not sting and will also remove any fungus etc.

Garlic juice is another alternative, natural fungicide and antiseptic etc, or if you wear contact lenses, sterile saline solution!

oh no, my weim gets filthy ears!! we have to clean them every couple of weeks with a solution the vet gave us. then again, she spends most of her walks rubbing her head on the ground trying to get her halti off so its no wonder really!! she loves having them cleaned though!! it gets her back leg going- you know when the leg starts cycling!!
