Well I have just realised I am possibly the least travelled person in the UK within the UK?
Where in the UK have you been?
And where would you love to go?
Better still where would you reccommend people to go? a hidden secret?

I don't think there is a county from Cornwall to Shetland (not a county is it ) that I have not visited and lived in a few of them too. Places I would love to return to are the Hebrides, Arran and the West Coast of Scotland generally. Cumbria, of course, I can't leave alone and, although it's hardly a hidden secret, I would recommend Keswick to anyone as the most dog friendly town I have ever been to as well as being set in the most beautiful area in England. Hidden secret wise the area around Kirkby Stephen is just about as beautiful as the lakes but
empty!

I am not well travelled unfortunately, but would love to be. I have been to the lakes a few times though in every season too, October being the most beautiful IMO. Peak District a few times, like Castleton and forget Bakewell Tarts, Bakewell Pudding are to die for - yum :) Visited Cornwall and Devon 3 times each, I just love the rugged coastline and the sea looks just beautiful. I thought the coastline walks would be a doddle - pah

Particularly liked wandering over Tintagel Castle ruins and visited Boscastle before it got washed away :(
Love Dorset too and wouldn't mind living down there. Been to Norfolk a few times and I don't know but it does nothing for me. Brecon Beacons, rained rained rained and SIL broke her wrist so probably should go back and give it another chance.
My favourite weekend away in recent years was to Northumberland, Lindisfarne - loved it.
Not taken dog away on walks yet as not keen on walking her for miles on a lead. I Might do that this year, will have to wait and see.
Would love to visit Ireland, W.side and also Scotland.

I have to concurr with the 'Iron lady' ( ;) )
But I may be verrrrrry biased... My early childhood I grew up in Cumbria, Cartmel (excellent village stores sticky toffee pudding which you can now buy in Waitrose..but not as good now its made in a big factory in Kendal was better from the back of the village shop! Mmmmm) remove the 'grockles' and Americans in the summer and its Bliss! wandering lonely as a cloud ;)
Scotland too.. have done most of the Isles, but not Iona which is next on my hit list.

Cheeky ;)
Oh yes, Iona I haven't been to that one yet either. What a shame, though, that the island ferries are so often expensive and have to be organised in advance. It's often cheaper and easier to get to Eastern Europe than the Western Isles  Worth it when you get there though :)

I've mainly been to show venues. :) LOADS of them! (Usually means you've seen NOTHING of the town!)
However I started something last year: taking photos of one of my dogs in locations we've travelled to. I've put them on my website. I shall try to add more. (Sorry can't give the link of course.) So far I have Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wimbledon Greyhound Stadium, Whitby (got her to sit under the whale bone arch, but boy was it hard to snap a pic WITHOUT people walking past all the time, and of course she had to do a stay as I had to run far off to get it all in, the arch being so tall), and in Goathland where they film Heartbeat I photographed her outside the shop they use in the series. :)

Brilliant idea!

Try and do a show in Morecambe and then you could photograph her with Eric Morecambe, if she was a boy perhaps she would have lifted a leg in a similar style to him :) :D
Robin Hoods Bay is a lovely place it just has a very magical feeling. I also like Whitby. Goathland is a very pretty place aswell, it is very tranquil. Hubbards Hills is a great day out, great for a picnic and great walk/run /paddle for the dogs. My absolute favourite place has to be Howarth/Holmfirth where Last of the Summer Wine was made. It has beautiful scenery lovely littles cafes and little shops.
Places I would love to go in the UK are
London for a shopping theatre weekend as I have never seen anything other than Kings cross station and the Barbican Centre.
Bourton on the Water it just looks so pretty
The Lake District, a nice holiday for Jazz too.
Brighton dont really know why I want to go there just always have.
I would like to go anywhere where there are little shops that are not your run of the mill high street stuff. I love knick knack shops.

Born in St Andrews, moved down to Reading at age 7, childhood holidays in 'Aylin Oiland, Swanage, Weymouth, visiting cousins in Notts, cycling to Oxford, hitching to London, then moving to Essex, holidaying with our children on Norfolk Broads, Cornwall, Devon, taking kids to Lake District for sailing, exploring Cotswolds, then once we started showing, it's been the Champ Show circuits - Bournemouth, Paignton, Usk, Builth Wells, Worcester, Stafford, Peterborough, Driffield and Edinburgh.
I always feel I want another couple of days, to see more........
Greedy - that's me!

I have always lived in the South, sussex and essex, never been further than Derbyshire up north and my most favourite place has to be North Devon especially Woolacombe. I have had lovely holidays there, the scenery and beach are amazing and the walks are spectacular.

Go to Scotland, it's all gorgeous. Special trips though must be to Glencoe, Loch Ness and Isle of Harris - it's something else.
Wales is nice too though and Cornwall. Have to say I've been round most of the UK in my time although I've never been to Somerset - next on the list :)

I've been to Scotland 3 times, the first two around Loch Ness and the third to Carluke in south Scotland (don't know the counties!). On the second I found a fab little place called Loch Morlind (I think) near Kingussie, well hidden but wonderful - like an inland beach, fine sand and everything, and nice little forest walks around it. Also there was a sled dog centre down the road doing talks, well worth it!
In England I've been to Yorkshire twice, first to Scarborough for a week and second to Stamford Bridge and Bishop Burton, and I'm going there again in a month (college, not holiday sadly!). Moving there this year too.
I've also been to Chollerford, Northumberland for a night (on the way to Scotland!) and Morecambe, Lancashire for a night (on the way back from Scotland, and very nice!). Also been to Cornwall (can't remember where) once on holiday and Bude in Cornwall once for a school activity week. Went to Devon once as a kid on a campnig holiday, and Wales as a kid to visit an old family friend; I've been somewhere else camping for the weekend but I can't remember where!
I'd love to go to the lake district for a hiking holiday with the dogs as well as back up to the Cairngorm mountains - there's a trail i didn't finish last time, and I want to go snowboarding there too. Wouldn't mind going to the New Forest with the mutts as well.

I adore the Lake District which is only about 90mins drive away, theres just something so special about it and I always feel like I've come home when I arrive there (not sure if anyone else ever gets that feeling about a place)
Re Iona - we went there back in 1993 with our weimaraner - the fuss she got off everyone was phenomenal. Such a beautiful peaceful place too. I'm not very good with boats and traveling by water so didnt enjoy
that bit of the trip. The cal-mac ferry wasnt too bad as I got chatting to an American guy about his dobes back home - but the little boat that took us over to Iona (shudder) I'll never make a sailor. Worth it though.

Well I'll admit to not being that well travelled other than for dog shows oh and when my daughter was younger dance festiavls :D but then I'm happy spending my time on my own doorstep with all the dogs in tow (not many places except 6 :D ) But then I live in Cumbria
Travelled all over the country camping with the boys :)
Moved from Hampshire to a place I could now never imagine leaving.
I live by a huge rural beach, that even in the height of summer is deserted. I sit, dabbing my toes in the surf and watch the seals :D The countryside is beautiful, locals are very friendly and it is stuffed with history. Five miles down the road there is a roman villa being excavated.
It has been called the forgotten county of England. I can tell you cos I know you won't tell anyone and disturb my peace :D It's Suffolk.....shhhh.

I have been to Scotland, England ,Ireland and Wales where I met my husband, but Channel Isles are best!
