As if I don't spend enough time on this machine, I'm now fixated on Google Earth - last night I went on a tour through the streets of Baghdad - in a minute, I'm going down to see my friend in Australia

Trouble is, being computer stupid, I can't find out how to search for places - I just have too keep looking until I find it.    Can anyone help a poor troubled traveller?

Does it get updated everytime you use it because last time I tried I got bored not finding enough detail for Australia.

No, I don't think so.   Probably just gets updated as they get better quality images.   There isn't much detail in Australia, is there?

No, there isn't.  My 19 yr old daughter is there and I really wanted to hone in on where she was.   Missing the scallywag :)

She's in Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast  having a whale of a time.  She's got no money now and doesn't seem too bothered.  She's been working as a rep and chambermaid plus a bit of security for the hostel she's in.  Not exactly sure how that is set up but what it means to her is that she gets her board free and then she and her friend take all the newbies around the local bars where daughter and friend get their drinks free   For pocket money they buy a load of food and sell $5 tickets for a bbq and keep the profits. There are 4 of them that have gone out there, 3 went to Sydney but daughter and one friend hated it and came back to GC.  the 3rd friend stayed and made loads of money hairdressing.  Apparently there's a real shortage of hairdressers :D

anyway the hairdressing friend has turned up in campervan today and they are going further north fruit picking to make some money so that they can visit NZ.  They have a Kiwi friend who said that he will take them siteseeing in his helicopter How the other half live eh?

Nice to be young,  footloose and fancy free again!

To find a place -use the ''fly to'' tab -sometimes you have to put in the country or nearest City  and then use the ''local search''
