I was wondering if anyone has noticed any side effects in their dogs after applying Frontline. I have used it for a few years now with no problems at all but I'm sure I read somewhere that it was changed last year & that some dogs suffered a seizure within a few days of the treatment - dogs that had never had a seizure before. It may be pure coincidence but now I am afraid to use it, especially on my elderly dog, think I'll just stick with garlic from now on. Anyone else heard anything?

Where did you hear that from because just had a quick google and expected to find quite a lot if that was a real risk.  One GSD site states Frontline safe for dogs at risk from seizure so maybe someone got wrong end of the stick?

I recently frontlined all my lot with a new batch of frontline spray and they all got very itchy, but I had also been giving them pedigree pouches at teh same time(used my vouchers to buy them) so not sure what started the itching off, but had never had problems wth fronline before.

How has it been changed.  I know that the spot on now has a combo version that covers more parasites, but has the spray changed???

As I use the old bottles as spray bottles I no longer have the old labels to compare the composition.

Hi Brainless
sorry I don't know how it has changed, I just heard/read somewhere about ?problems. I was hoping someone would be able to enlighten me as well. One of my dogs has experienced very itchy skin for a day or two after application as well. Sorry I'm so vague - that's why I posted to see if anyone knew more.

Somebody on a breed list I am on reported their puppy started coughing and continued for about a week after each treatment with Fontline (did it first time, got better, then was treated again a month later and same thing happened), and the dog's owner developed a rash. This was in the US though.

The only problem I have ever encountered with frontline was with cats. My fiancees parents used it on their Bengall and it bleached a little patch of fur where it was applied.
