A friend of mine is after a dalmatian in Japan but she is not able to find out if they have a japanese club or a KC does anyone know if such a thing exists.  Apparantly they mainly sell dogs in pet shops and having listened to what I have said realises it is not a good idea to buy one from there.:rolleyes:

You can use the babelfish site for translating small amounts of text at a time though.

Dont worry the lady concerned is Japanese so is fluent but her parents still live there.  She was going to let them have one of her puppies but we are both worrying about tranpsorting a young puppy so far accross the world.

Breed clubs and indeed general canine clubs dont operate in Japan as they do here. there is a Japanese Kennel Club, which is part of the FCI.. But most other clubs are actually owner by individuals, although they are regulated by JKC who allocate CCs etc. The whole show scene there is very professional and very 'americanised'
