Hi

My 15 week old Yorkie has just got over Kennel Cough but she has now changed to only Poo's outside and started to
Wee all round the house but was trained before the illness ,I take her out everytime after play, eat, sleeps and yesterday i left the garden door open all day and stood outside with her when she went out  as i am home all day every day and all she did was play and poo but has soon as her paw hits the floor she pee's,should i put this down to one of though things or should i start telling her off "say no " or  get her checked out
at the vet,She has two days of antibiotic's left but the cough has gone, eating like mad and playing

Your puppy is only 15 wks old!  And Yorkies, from what I've heard, are quite hard to toilet train.

Definitely do not start telling her off, you will create more problems than you solve.

Are you giving her a treat when she goes outside in the right place?  You should have a treat box by the door, which you grab on the way out.  When she starts to go, you praise and then give a treat immediately afterwards (within 1 second of her finishing).

Also make sure you are cleaning the floor with biological washing liquid since many disinfectants contain ammonia and other products, which smell exactly like wee to a dog, and will make her think the floor is just one big toilet!  Using biological washing liquid digests the enzymes in the wee so the dog can no longer smell them.

I wouldn't take her to the vet just yet if there are no other signs of ill health.

Thanks for your help, going to wash the floors with biological washing powder as my puppy (tess),must think she has the biggest toilet in town as we only have carpet on the stairs and the rest of the house is flooring

Believe me, you're not alone!!! Yorkies are TERRIBLE to toilet train!!! But, then, me, I got another ickle boy whose 4 months old now...LOL

All of the above, and NO telling off...it just don't work!!

Even my 15month old boy will tiddle somewhere if he can get away with it!! Especially when it's raining!!

I'm home all day and generally they are ok, but if Hubby os looking after them...there's ALWAYS an accident...'cos he just doesn't LOOK after them!!! Doesn't notice the signs or the body language! Men HUH! LOL

Good luck, hope things improve soon, love Dawn X
