Hello everyone, I have recently brought home a lovely bullmastiff girl called Blossom, she is now 16 weeks old, i have heard quite a bit about BARF feeding at puppy classes and was wondering what age i could start this feeding at?
Nakita

Now :)

I started feeding BARF at 7 weeks with my last addition, as expected, no problems :)

Hi Nakita, the best book for starters is IMHO is The Ultimate Diet by Kmythy Schulze. Unlike some others, it is written in a logical sequence, informs you of all the nutrients required and their sources, has sample menu plans and is written in simple, accessible language.
It really tells you all you need to know.

Tohme, i wanted to put her, but i couldnt remember how to spell her name!!!
Ive only read a bit of that one but its definately better than Billingshursts books. Billingshurst has all the info IN there, but they are not easy to read and IMO there is a LOT of waffle!

Hello fellow barfers
Just as a matter of interest, did you notice your younsters grew much more slowly on the barf diet?

Nakita,
I would make raw dog ranch that christine posted one of your first stops. It is easy to read and is great for beginners.Last time i spoke with lauri, the site owner, she was compiling a big list of 'myths' and reasons why people dont want to feed a raw diet,so it is worth keeping an eye out for :)

Yep, definately!
My 9 month old pup is MUCH lighter and lankier than his sister who is fed on complete food, he hasnt started to fill out yet either, but both sister and brother are very hefty and look much more adult.
