Are these packages easy enough to teach yourself?.  I am wanting to change jobs and all the one I want to apply for ask for experience with these packages.  I have tried our local college but they dont do specific courses to teach you how to use these.  Any advice appreciated.

They are pretty straight forward to be honest and since you're online you ought to be able to get someone to help you out if you get stuck :-)  I can help with Word and Excel.  We'll call it an in-house training programme on your CV- prospective employers don't need to know it's in-champdogs-house training do they ;-)

Yes they are, they come with help and there is basic training available on the microsoft web site see http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/training/default.aspx

You can also get loads of books

They are a lot better now than earlier versions. The help option is easier to manouvre round.
Also there are good online training courses that you can sign up to. You work at your own pace and once you've learnt an area you get a module exercise to do. Learn Direct is a good one friends of mine have used.

Local colleges should offer either the Clait course or the ECDL; (which you can do as an interactive training programme and is another qualification to stick down!)  But as for books.... just sit down and have a play with the packages if you get stuck...you can always click that really helpfull paperclip....ummmm maybe......

Hi I work in an adult learning centre that is linked to a College in another town, we also have mobile learning centres (buses with laptops) we offer qualifications courses, Clait Plus 2006, Clait 2006, ECDL parts one and two and e-citizen an entry level qualification.  All good for the CV, is there no mobile learning linked to a  main college near to you.  With a Clait course you can buy individual modules and for the certificate or diploma you have to do Unit 1 as a Mandatory unit which is file management and e-document production you then have a choice from 7 other modules, you choose two for a certificate course or 4 for a diploma course and this is the same for Clait or Clait plus.  I do hope you find what you are looking for as I'm a firm believer in adult learning.
