Topic Dog Boards / Feeding / customer service ? (locked)
- By Trevor [gb] Date 17.01.06 06:49 UTC
All seven of my dogs are on Nature diet and have done very well on it - always eager to eat and have good coats etc - however we had some problems getting our usual order direct from them so phoned up yesterday to check when our order would be delivered. We placed our usual order at the beginning of January and were down to our last two cases - the woman at the end of the phone was SO rude - she told me that I should count myself lucky as some customers had been waiting since mid December and that she was fed up with people "wasting her time by complaining !!!" -when I asked to speak the her boss she said that she was the managing director and then hung up .

I don't know what problems they are having there but I tell you what they have certainly lost this customer and so I am looking for suggestions for an alternative good quality food - tried James Wellbeloved whcih was ok except that the dogs got a bit bored with it - and I've tried the BARF diet but just could'nt keep on top of it and the dogs lost weight whilst on this - any sggestions folks ?

I struggled with BARF (for 7 you would need to be very organised, probably need their own kitchen). So now I feed 'all in one', which mine do very well on. One of mine was alergic to something that appears to be in most dried foods. They still get scraps, and a few bones, but it has taken the hard work out of it.

have you tried natures menu - it is very similar

How rude, bad customer service, they will have no customers left soon with that attitude.

I've had to switch to Natures Menu which Berts doing well on but it's sooo much more expensive, especially as you have seven dogs!

I do hope the supply is sorted soon!

Naturediet is a great food.Your'e not feeding the customer service, after all ;) I wouldnt worry about what some rude cow said,if your'e dogs are thriving and enjoying it that's all that should matter. If what this person said really irked you,you could write a letter of complaint explaining how rude she was! I just feel it's a shame that your dogs have to miss out through something that's got nothing to do with them :)

You might not be feeding the customer service, but you are paying the wages! And the point is that trevor can't get hold of any of the food - so its hardly her depriving her dogs, infact, its ND itself!

I found this: http://www.naturediet.net/message_forum/thread_detail.html?forum_thread=16687 quite interesting :)

Try forthglade, it is just as good as naturediet (IMO) but much cheaper :)

We are on Nature Menu and the dogs are doing great on it, Barbie has not lost any condition even with the puppies.
She would not touch nature Diet, so do not know if it would work for you

We get ours from Nimax

Interesting link ! - I'm not surprised that they have had so many complaints about supply - although the product is great their service is terrible and I need a supplier that will provide me with the food when I need it - not treat me like a nuisance.

Thanks for the info on Nature Menu Lynn - I'll definitely try that - Nimax is on my way back from work so I'lll pop in this evening :D

How are the pups by the way ?

Its funny, but *some* companies (talking generally here) act like this when they are in trouble ;)

Hi Yvonne,
Have you tried Pet Planet for ypur supplies, i ordered ND for my mums westies and it came by next day delivery. http://www.petplanet.co.uk/

Sad to hear all this but Ive got to the stage now where Im not surprised!
My order of the blue packs of Fish (order direct) turned up as the light variety.. not what I ordered and sadly of all the subsitutes they couldve sent totally inappropriate for my Sibe. (they have my number could they not have checked?)
It was the last straw for me when like you Trevor the ensuing phone calls were just unbelievable,I had suspected from the tone the company used in a letter they sent to CD which I think was put on the 'Nature diet sitch' thread about a month or so ago.
In the interim I just stepped up the raw foods..more sardines!! my Sibes delighted :D :p
We too have now swapped to Natures Menu its only been a week, but poo's are good and nothing untoward to speak of yet. I like the fact its not as dense in consistancy as ND its more moist and this works well for us as I stir it into his fish kibble which binds it nicely. (otherwise he has a habbit of flicking kibble bits the lenght and breadth of the kitchen! :-o )

Received from Carol Wilcox. Naturediet:

"Trevor called to place an order, and when I said that we could only supply limited amounts at the moment as we were still trying to get back into a stock situation following our problems last year. Trevor received a supply of Naturediet on 11th January and wanted to order more on 16th January.

Trevor became abusive and said 'what kind of company are you' and was shouting down the telephone saying the supply was our problem and we should sort ourselves out. I did not quote ' you should think yourself lucky etc', what I did say to him was that we were still trying to get back on track and that we still had customers waiting from before Christmas and were trying to catch up with the backlog and be fair to everyone.

I told Trevor I would not continue to have the conversation with him if he didn't stop shouting and being abusive and then he demanded to speak to the MD, which was in fact me as I told him which made him become even more abusive.

Nobody, I think everyone would agree, should have to be spoken to like that and I said I would put the phone down if he didn't calm down.

Please note that the posting on the forum is signed by Yvonne, who quotes 'she told me that I should count myself lucky'. I in fact spoke with a man not a woman, so Yvonne is posting on a third party interpretation of a telephone conversation, not from a first hand experience.

We work very hard on our customer service and in order to assist with the number of telephone queries we get, I have personally been assisting. Many of our customers have commented that it is very unusual for a Managing Director to answer the telephone.

In order that our customers receive information on the situation at Naturediet, I posted a long statement on the forum a couple of weeks ago, attaching my own email address in order that anyone who had serious problems could communicate directly with me, which many members of the forum have done.

If anyone else has problems with our customer services I would appreciate that contact is made with me at Naturediet rather than post one sided items on the forum which I don't believe is the reason for the forum. Carol Wilcox"

Admin: as they say, two sides to every story and as both sides have been aired now, I am locking this thread :)
