Hi everyone...long one but would appreciatea advice please!
Bit of background....We have had Zara(JSI) since she was 9 months old.She was speyed shortly after. She is now 2 1/2 years old.We got Miami(JSI) 5 months ago.She is now 14 months old.Now Miami is a lovely girl...still very much a puppy but when she tries to play(with the other dogs, toys etc) Zara can't help herself but nip at her as she goes past..at times its obviously too hard as it causes a fight. Also if Miami runs to the front door when someone knocks Zara will really go for her...big style. Now the rest of the time they live quite happily together.Miami always comes out on top...shes much bigger although not yet mature and yet afterwards she holds no grudges and tries to encourage Zara to play by play bowing and wiggling at her etc.She shows all the classic signs of submission.Zara however is having non of it and is totally unimpressed. When they fight its SERIOUS! Miami would I have no doubt do big damage if not stopped.Up till now we have had no major injuries due to nice thick fur thankfully and we never leave then unattended together. My question is ...can this be sorted? Will it settle with time as I think its a bit of a case of Zara trying to show shes boss over the new and upcoming bitch?Theres no question of rehoming one of them.
Things have been worse in the last 2-3 weeks but we are thinking its down to Zara(although speyed) showing signs of being in season

Hi Archer,
Gosh reading this post sounds so much like a problem I was having a few weeks ago .
i have a 2and half and 13m who normally get on really well but suddenly within a matter of weeks  were acting very strange with each other turned out the pup was coming into season  and was being very dominant no fighting but near enough i wouldnt have trusted them together alone they stopped playing together  and pup became very jealous of just about everything.

I have a friend who is a trainer/behaviorist and gave me some advice on how to deal with it turned out my hubby had a lot to do with it they were mainly arguing over him for his attention she advised us how to deal with it and it worked.

Her season actually ended on Monday and by Tuesday they were playing together grabbing each other legs and having fun  they have gone back to normal...hormones are a wonderful thing!

I'm not saying this is the same situation but with  your last comment about one of your girls would normally be coming into season I thought it might help.
