Hello everyone,
Daisys pups are now 6 weeks old (how quick has that gone!), and are at this time amusing themselves with one of Daisys pigs ears. They are really enjoying having a chew on these, do any of you allow your pups to play with these or do you think they are too young?

yes they can play with them- but only when you are watching them. dogs and pups can choke on pigs ears. we used to gather them up and put them away when we were leaving the pups unsupervised.
edit to say- we used to give a little treat to get the pigs ear off them happily

Thanks for the reply, they are closely supervised when they have them, but your right they do need coaxing away from them!

I have never given pigs ears to any of my pups, much prefer to give suitable chew toys, just buy a nice bundle from your local pet store, they are a lot safer for them to chew, they also chew each other. :-D

SUPPOSE IT DEPENDS ON THE BREED TENDENCIES(sorry 4 caps) Lyssa. my breed would no more chew a dog "toy" than fly!!!! I give the babies pigs ears to keep them amused. however once they reach about 12 months its a no-no as fights start

when one wants the others ear!!!

LOL to flying dogs! I just think 6 weeks is too young for pigs ears, I prefer them to play tug and chasing games and drag the garden brush around. :-D
