I am wondering if anyone can offer any advice as you all seem very knowledgeable on this site, i have been wanting to buy a cavalier king charles puppy for sometime now and i have heard that a breeder based in Dumfrieshire has just had a litter, she wants £500 for a male dog with a £50 deposit, from looking around the internet she also breeds Pomerianians and German shepards, Does anyone have any info on this Breeder good or bad, or any tips that they can offer as i feel i am going in a bit blind as we have never owned a dog and i don't really know what to look for, any help greatfully received.

I cant tell you anything about this breeder,but the fact that she breeds different breeds of dogs sent alarm bells ringing for me.

Get in contact with the cav club and get a list of ethical breeders from them,you could also ask them about this particular breeder and they should be able to let you know if they are good or bad.

The fact that someone breeds few breeds at the same time, doesn't mean it's a bad breeder. I myself know quite a few very well know kennels that breed 2 or 3 breeds and really are top quality and very well known around the world..... so i'd go and check it out in person and also ask around a bit.
