I was just wondering who has done the SGWC with their dog/s? - retrievers especially. What are the requirements to pass it? I know that the dog has to have won a 1st at a champ show, before it is eligible to do the SGWC. Are they run as 'strictly' field trials/working tests - someone told me that they are more relaxed than trials? What training is necessary for them?

Ooohhh, I think dogs have to be on 2CCs to be elligible. I might well be wrong, but I think that's the way of it. The purpose is to make up full gundog champions so a simple first at a champ show doesn't cut it really. :)

I think it depends on who runs it and under which condition.  You can qualify with a 1st from a champ show or I think if it is run as part of a field trial you need 2 CC's.  The standard is not as easy as some people think, it is more like the equivalent of a novice trial.  Don't know anything about Retriever trials though
