Just trying to give everyone a heads up.. i realize it's last minute but i just saw the commercial for it... seems to be interesting.

Thanks for the reminder- I saw it advertised in the TV guide last week and thought it looked good- had forgot it was tonight though :-)

No, heard enough on the radio trailer this morning to know it was not for me
- By Jeangenie [gb] Date 05.01.06 22:11 UTC
The title was enough to put me off! No, they're not!!!!!!
- By Moonmaiden Date 05.01.06 22:16 UTC

- By pinklilies Date 05.01.06 22:21 UTC Edited 05.01.06 22:29 UTC
Poor Bertie ...the look on his little face when his owner was packing his case....
- By LindyLou [gb] Date 05.01.06 22:25 UTC
This is getting ridiculous. They now have 2 Jack Russells that are , well, not 'getting on' I don't see how, or why, people want to put this on TV. Dogs are DOGS after all. I can't watch any more. For heavens sake....
- By Carla Date 05.01.06 22:39 UTC
I thought he looked absolutely delighted - and bless him when he got there - he wouldn't go to mummy LOLOL :D
- By LJS Date 05.01.06 22:22 UTC
Please give a bit more info on the program please if possible :)
- By pinklilies Date 05.01.06 22:24 UTC
Its about a few couples who are wealthy and go mad pampering their dogs. Dressing them up etc. Its on bbc 2 right now
- By Moonmaiden Date 05.01.06 22:24 UTC
Two posh couples one has an italian greyhound & the other a short legged jack russell

The ones with the JR obviously haven't a clue about breeding neither do the bitches owners I suspect
- By pinklilies Date 05.01.06 22:28 UTC
My 2 afghans are desperately interested in this program! they are gazing lovingly at the tv....
- By LJS Date 05.01.06 22:31 UTC
pl they must like woosie dogs then  :)
- By ridgielover Date 05.01.06 22:28 UTC
Lucky Bertie - he's about to have 2 weeks of being a dog, not a toy!
- By Moonmaiden Date 05.01.06 22:30 UTC
LOL
- By cutewolf [gb] Date 05.01.06 22:31 UTC
Eek! I watched it but I wish I hadn't... it was disturbing!
- By pinklilies Date 05.01.06 22:32 UTC
Yea! Good for Bertie :D
- By roz [gb] Date 05.01.06 22:33 UTC
Oh my days!!! Get that Jack Russell outta that basket! It has LEGS!!!

Sorry about that. Just caught the end of it and I've got a particular "thing" about people making eejits out of Jack Russells. I think it's probably a good job I did only watch a couple of minutes' worth!
- By echo [gb] Date 05.01.06 22:38 UTC
Just shows, some people have more money than sense.

Talking about Jack Russells being made to look silly, I recently had people stay with me who had a JR and they had bought it a push chair because they thought it couldn't walk outside the house.  The vet told them, cant you see hes just taking the P*ss.  Think the dog made them look idiots LOL
- By roz [gb] Date 05.01.06 22:43 UTC
Well they do say that a Jack Russell will always train its owner if given half the chance! ;)

(Have covered ears of the JRT snoozing away at my feet lest he thinks its worth trying here though)
- By Goldmali Date 05.01.06 22:48 UTC
Watched it, moaned all the way through. The Italian Geyhond looked like a dog and not depressed for the first time when he got to see other dogs! I feel the programme ended too soon, I WANTED to see what happened when the JR's idiot owners had the baby -now that was a disaster waiting to happen!

At least we had "Supervets" on BBC1 earlier on -now THAT was GOOD!
- By vodaberry [gb] Date 05.01.06 23:07 UTC
The title actually mislead me.. as well as the trailer...

I assumed it was a show about perople who treated their pets as well as they would treat themselves.... Not Paris Hilton clones.....
- By Dill [gb] Date 05.01.06 23:26 UTC
Can't wait until the woman has her baby, wonder if the dog will play tuggy with it cos he's jealous  (like he did with the foetal monitor bag  )  wonder how they'll cope with the dog once he's not the 'One and Only'

Poor Bertie, being a toy is such hard work with owners like his, it was so lovely to see him romping with his brother, wish his owners loved him enough to treat him like a real dog

OH was aghast at these people, don't know if he'll stand my moaning next week ;)
- By peewee [gb] Date 05.01.06 23:31 UTC
I have to say that it was heartwarming that some people do truly care about their animals and go to any length to make them happy ....... but what the hell we're they thinking with the 'shoes', the daft clothes (many of which I couldn't spot a pee hole in!), the wanting the Jack Russell to have babies cos his "Mummy" was having a baby and she didn't want him to feel "left out" *aaaaaaaaaaaargh!*  They're dogs and they need to be allowed to be dogs for goodness sake not molly coddled into a substitue 'baby'

And that 'bed' scene with the JR and his 'girlfriend' was a micky take I know but purlease!!!! Why did the owners of "Muffin" even entertain the idea of her having pups for the batty owners of "Freddy Flinstone" in the first place!?!

The more money people have the less sense in my opinion ;) haha
- By echo [gb] Date 06.01.06 01:16 UTC
The Muffin owners were a right pair of 'Muffins' themselves
- By dedlin [gb] Date 06.01.06 09:08 UTC
i think feeding the italian greyhound  in a posh restaurant at the table was disgusting! these rich bods make me sick!
- By Lindsay Date 06.01.06 09:21 UTC
I can't bear to watch such programmes, I feel so sorry for the animals - dogs prefer to be allowed to be dogs, at the end of the day! :)
- By milomum Date 06.01.06 09:23 UTC
Well my dobie thought it was amusing and kept headbutting the screen when the JRT came on! Those little booties were ridiculous. What is all that about? I too wonder what will happen once the baby is born. They are in for a massive reality check! I'd like to see the follow up programme, that would be far more interesting!
- By Jeangenie [gb] Date 06.01.06 09:24 UTC
But it was probably much cleaner and healthier than some people I've seen ... ;)
- By judgedredd [gb] Date 06.01.06 11:34 UTC
i watched it, with disbelief, why where the couple with the IG walking it down the streets etc with no collar on, (could not call a string of pearls a collar) and it never seemed to go on a leash, why where they never stopped by the dog warden, would of loved to see her face if she did get stopped, and did any one notice the price of the poncho in the shop window , the shop where they went to get the bright pink track suit for him, £120 what a buisness to be in,
that could pay for a few shows but the bit i liked was when he went to stop with his brother and got to be a dog.
I would love to see a follow up when the baby is born and the jack russel gets his nose pushed out and is not the apple of mammy eye, she thought it was funny when it ragged the heart monitor around wonder if she thinks it will be so funny if it ragged at the new baby.
you never know they may think we are the funny ones the way we treat our dogs
