i'm taking my girl to the vets next wed. to have her boosters and also because she still hasn't come into season yet (she's about 3 months late) i was told by someone that the vet can give her somthing to bring her into season. can anyone give me some info on this please before i go next week.

many thanks jjr

Theres nothing like wanting a bitch to come in season to make her late!
Personally, I wouldn't interfere with a bitch's hormones ever again - I've made the mistake of doing it twice (once to postpone a season, because of a family crisis, and once a misalignment injection) and both times it ended in pyometra.

Don't you just love them?

If you want them to come into season on time - they'll be late, months late  or early, months early

If you want them not to come in season on time they'll be on time or early, months early

Little madams :D

Personally I wouldn't interfere either ;) If she's meant to come into season she will, if not then she won't ;)

what is her normal time between seasons?  Has she always been regular (if you bitch is old enough)

We waited 3 months for our bitch to come into season after we expected her to come in! but she did have two seasons with only 2 months inbetween once aswell!

don't do it i had to have one of mine done to stop a season due to family death abroad and had to put her in kennels and 9 months later i am still waiting, i had to make a quick descion as it all happened so quickly looking back now i wish i had not as she my never have a  breeding season again !!

hi thanks for your replys, well i don't have to go down that road now because i've just let her out and it looks like she is in season now. but thankyou for your opinions on this i dont think i would've gone ahead with it because it doesn't sound like a good thing.

many yhanks jjr

Often letting her be with an in season bitch will bring one in that is taking ehr time, as the pheremonews seem to encourage the bitches to cycle.

Yes, my friend once had 6 bitches all bring each other into season - her poor stud dog was going cross-eyed wanting them!! :-)
