Topic Other Boards / Foo / Pizza deliveries - why do we bother

:mad:Yes I'm here to rant about the pizza delivery. We ordered from a well known pizza place and when it turned up (over a hour later) the garlic bread was cold and the pizza bearly warm. I rang the stupid place and after politely explaining the problem was referred to by the idiot who didn't think to at least cover the mouth peice as an anger woman. The check of them! You pay £16 to have something that states on the ads and box and website 'delivered hot and on time' only to recieve something that in a resturant you'd tell them to stick it!!!!
Well the manager said 'i give you free ......' god knows what he said as i couldn't understand him and frankly am in no mood to ask him to sodding repeat himself. Now I'm sat on the computer hungery and annoyed. Whats a girls supposed to do..... other than eat cold pizza which I'm refussing to do on principle.
Should I ring them back and say they can come and collect their pizza and I'll pay for the slices (all 2.5 of them) and have the rest of my money back.

I would!!!!!!
Tell them that they either bring a hot pizza round within 15 minutes or you will go and announce in the middle of their restaurant what bad service you have recived and the word for wors comment you overheard!!!!
Lea:)
Edited to say, sorry not very helpful I know :(

Might just do that only prob is sat in my pj's with a very large vodka and cola in hope of the hunger subsiding!!! I wasn't even that bothered with pizza and really wanted to go to my fav pub for tea just to make it worse.  I could just swear!! But I won't. Maybe the dogs will enjoy it.

I would certainly ring them back and tell them to come and collect the remaining pizza.......and i'd also tell them that you expect a full refund, otherwise you wont be ordering from them again (which you probley wont anyway)

This happened to me a few years ago, i took the food back myself, and demanded a full refund :-D

Sorry i just saw Lea's reply......yes you could give them a time limit to bring you a fresh (hot) pizza :-)

I always find that when you get delivery something is not right, so from now on i always collect, it's almost as if they forget and then send any old thing out.

I know but do I really want their stinking pizza that they'll probably spit on now anyway.  Should have gone out like I really wanted. Note to self ... if I want to go out in future stomp feet until you get own way!!! :)

Hubby is refusing to ring them. B*?!!y men!  He's obviously happy to pay £16 for 2.5 slices. I give up!!!  Whats a girl to do with everything....

email them then follow up with letter!  Don't put up with bad service.
- By mollymoto [gb] Date 02.01.06 20:03 UTC
The website only gives an office hours number and an address ......... probably cause the number of complaints jams up the in box. When I'm calmer I will write what my dad refers to as a strongly worded letter, spit on it and send it.  Ok was joking about the spiting bit! I'm just so bloody hungry

- By mollymoto [gb] Date 02.01.06 20:11 UTC
Dam i forgot about the cost of a stamp. They might send me vouchers. Oh the joy. LOL :)  :)  :)

Have written letter and told them how they have missed out as we were going to order pizzas from them for my party in three weeks. Well our coke has run out so I'm off to hit the wine!

Wonders will never cease. Hubby has finally rang them and freash pizza will be here in 50 mins. Thats only 3 hours since we orginally rang. Can't believe hubby didn't demand money back. So I'm now waiting for my pizza with extra gob!  What a great start to the year.  I have my 30th birthday party in three weeks and we were going to order pizzas from them for it.  Think I'll change the plans and go for sandwiches!!!!

I ordered a pizza once, then called back 20 minutes later to see if I could add a burger for my hubby. I was told no because my pizza was being delivered now.  Half an hour later it still hadn't arrived, so I called back and asked what was happening.  The woman told me that it was their mistake, as my pizza was still sat on top of the oven waiting to be delivered (it was forgotten by the driver) she then went on to ask me if I wanted to add the burger I asked for before, so I said yes.  Another half an hour later I called and cancelled the whole thing (it surely doesn't take half an hour to make a burger?  And all this time my pizza was getting colder and colder), and to my amazement the pizza guy (probably the manager) called back and had a go at me, saying it was MY fault that the pizza was late because I had ordered a burger too!!  I tried to explain about how my pizza had been sat for half an hour waiting to be delivered before I added the burger, but he wasn't having any of it!  In the end, fed up with the conversation, I simply put the phone down, and the guy had the cheek to call me straight back!!  Needless to say I just picked the receiver up and put it straight back down again without speaking!!  Bloody cheek of the guy!!!!!

Ooooh it sounds so familiar.

I had a bad few experiences with chinese and indian takeaways (not pizza, but then our pizza place is only five minutes WALK from the house so we just go and get it).

We frequently get takeaway leaflets delivered through the door, so, occasion one, i phone the chinese and order food for three people. It turned up minus three items and one had been swapped for something different. Rang back and got a mouthful of abuse from the wife of the owner.
Fortunately on rummaging (not often the following is fortunate!) through what we DID have, we found a baby cockroach, which was promptly shoved in a sample jar, and handed to my dearest mother who works for Environmental Health, AND i rang back and told them this! They were THEN very apologetic and tried to offer me free food (no refund mind) so told them whre to stick THAT.

They got shut down for a week following the EHO visit.

Rang an indian a few weeks later, with their new fresh off the press leaflet menu in my hand. FIVE things i asked for off the menu they didnt do, and they got REALLY angry at me asking for things they didnt have. Told them to shove off.

The follow up to THAT one made me nearly wet myself.

They sent us (and the whole street) a flaming christmas card! and their new menu. I was VERY tempted to phone up and ask if this menu had any relevance to the food they actually sell, but couldnt be bothered!

This kinda reminds of an incident my sister had with a pizza shop. One night she called and ordered 3 pizza's to pick up,she got there and they wern't ready, and it seemed her order hadnt even been recorded!! So they gave her, her pizza's for free.3 weeks later she again ordered the same thing, she got there and once again her pizza's wern't ready and there was NO record of her order,so in good faith they gave them to her for free.By this time she was well p*ssed off so she went to another pizza place, but way further away! Anyway's a few months later she decided to give the first mob a try again as their pizza's were better than the other one :) She called, ordered, turned up and the same bl**dy thing happened again!! This time she went right off and told them to stick their pizza's up their arse!

Long story short, she discovered that all 3 times she had ordered from the pizza shop down the road from this one,so her orders had been taken, but by the wrong pizza shop  So you can imagine the right shop would have been much annoyed that they got stuck with 3 pizza's 3 times and the wrong one couldnt figure out why her order kept getting stuffed up!

In fairness to her their brochure's are very similar to eachother, but still we are never going to let her forget what a stupid thing she did was :p

The cracker is that her daughter has just got a job with the pizza place she went off at,her kid has forbode her from ever stepping foot in there while she's working as they dont know she's the daughter of that crazy woman with the imaginary orders,LOL

:D :D

Oh the joys of living in the countryside! The only "takeaways" we get delivered are dead voles and squashed pheasants that were daft enough to walk in front of Land Rovers. Although a very squashed pheasant can look a bit like a pizza...;)
