Hello Lynn

My new puppy will be on a tripe diet too.  I was told it would probably be cheaper to buy regularly from the same butcher.  But if you find out anywhere cheap but good quality online please let me know.

Lynne,

If it is a Dane puppy you are getting please please watch giving too much tripe as a diet unless you are counter balancing it with calcium tablets.   I had terrible problems with my 2nd Munster & her growth plates after being fed tripe as a pup, as did a friend of mine with a Ridgeback & someone else at the same veterinary practice with a Wolfhound.

Yes, mine is a dane puppy.  I have a diet sheet from breeders and tripe is one of the many ingredients on the list.  Our breeders have studied and used this diet for many years on all of their own danes and puppies, I therefore trust their expertise as their danes all look amazing. I have also been told what to look out for in pups development and been told all about calcium tablets and when to use them if necessary. Breeders are also just a phonecall or email away if ever I need anything.  Just a few days to go and I will be a happy dane owner again.  I can't wait.

Our breeder is very good to and we are going to ask lots of questions on the feeding when we pick him up. Our main worry would be hes not getting enough nutrients but hopefully we will get all the information we will need. As you said breeder is only a phone call away:cool: I bet you are so excited not long now :)
