Since the new look Champdogs, which is very good generally, my screen is showing ever increasing number of unread replies on the topics, even if the topics haven't been added to for several days so clearly there are not unread replies. It's showing over 1000 new replies on some topics. Is this something I need to do on my computer, or are other people finding the same thing? :-)

Do you log-out every so often ?

Not usually, just close the window, and when I re-open I'm still logged in. I'll have to dig out my password and give that a go.

mmmmm, I never log out. I very rarely even close the window (my comp is on 24/7) and dont have that problem :/

Hmm, I've logged out and in again, and it now says there are no new messages at all! I'll try logging out before closing the internet down and see what happens next time I need my Champdogs fix. Thanks!

ps just read Lea's message, so that might not help - worth a try though! :-)

I have the same problem, and I log out every so often to clear it. But it's not the best solution, as I'd still like to see what posts I haven't read.

Just a thought - in 'Options' have you ticked the box marked 'Mark posts as old manually' ???

Hi Daisy,  I didn't have but just tried it.  They are now all ticked as being read but still showing the same unread totals in brackets so it looks like I will still need to log out and back on again to clear those - HELP! :D

I also find I now have to log out to stop read messages showing as unread.  Bit of a pain having to log out and in several times a day just to see what is new :(
- By Jeangenie [gb] Date 02.01.06 22:25 UTC
I have to log out several times a day because I like to click on 'New Posts' and since the site rearrangement it won't show very many before cutting off the page length. :(

click the MARK OLD button. As these are not unread posts just "new" posts (since you last logged on)

The Mark as old Manually button is not ticked, should it be? Logging out and then in has cleared the backlog so I guess I can just do that every so often. Glad I'm not the only one who's finding this!! :-)

when you get onto the forum contents list, with behavoiur breeding etc down the side, click on the mark old button there
