Day nine and the milks finnaly flowing a gooden. I contacted a Heamopathic vet yesterday, told him my story and he replied "no problem, got something that should do the trick" He wanted to post the stuff but I was straight in the car and got there within an hour. On my return I gave the first tablet to my girl and fed the pups. Last thing at night (well 3am) I fed the pups and gave the second tablet. This morning the pups took the 6am & 8am feeds with gusto, but when I went in to feed them at 10am I found them asleep, content & with fat bellies. Panick started because I had trouble waking them & none were interested in the bottle. Same thing happened with miday feed, so I toileted them (nothing wrong there) so decided to take my girl away from them for short while to test my theroy. After 13/4 hours my girl was getting very agitated and wanted her puppies. I checked them and their loverly round bellies had dissappeared, so I let mum in and fast moving pups soon engulfed her, and then I heard the most gloriuos sounds ever, Glug glug and more glugs as their little stomachs filled up. I'm staying up one more night to make sure everything is working (you know what I mean) then I'm going to say hello to my bed atlast. I'll keep everyone informed on their progress.
A big thank you to those that replied to my previous threads.

Not sure I should give name of tablets. I think they were specially made for Tasi and her problem, however I do recommend contacting a Heamopathic vet (qualified) for individual attention especially when normal vets services come to nothing.
Milks still flowing, Pups growing, Good night everyone.

As far as I am aware the most common homeopathic remedy to increase milk flow is Urtica Urens 1x but I am very sceptical of homeopathy as I have never noticed any improvement in either my dogs or myself when it has been used - with the exception of things like arnica and calendula creams.
The flower remedys on the other hand definitley have something in them - Brandy!

I wanted to post regarding Urtica Urens as I just came from the homeopathic doctor and feel its important. I also researched this myself prior to this posting.
Urtica Urens 1X is used to stop milk flow!
Urtica Urens 30c is used to increase milk flow!
The difference is the strength. He said the 1X will not only stop flow but in these higher doses can start to cause problems. So, I wouldn't recommend anyone use that to stop milk flow unless they have more info on it. I was just interested in increasing flow so didn't discuss what he meant by problems.
He also gave me a herbal supplement called lactation that he said he's used with his mares with great success. I'll let you know if these work. My female is producing milk but not enough -she's small (9 lbs.) with 5 pups. - Janet
