my dog is very restless keeps standing up then looking into space then laying back down.very slight panting
not eaten all day and lots of runny poo. i tried to get this post at the end of my other but didnt know how sorry

It sounds as though she's on her way.  Do you have her sleeping in her whelping box?  Are you taking her temperature?  Do you have "Book of the bitch"?  Do you have your bitch's breeder and your Vet standing by for back up and support?  It sounds as though this is your first time?  Please don't leave her on her own tonight.

Could still be a while yet the first stage can take more than 12 hours.  She may be having gentle contractions which are pushing the puppies nearer to the cervix in preparation for birth. 

When things really start to happen you may be able to see, or feel her sides, go tense as contractions start in earnest.  When the birth is immanent she may look as if she needs to pass a motion. 

Have you got your vet standing by in case you need help.  Your vet has probably asked you to take temperature readings in readiness for the birth.  If you don't know any of the basics phone your vet now and let him talk you through what is supposed to be happening. 

Make sure she has access to water even if she doesn't want food.
