Hi All
Wonder if you can shed any light on this....
Over the festive period we have taken our Molly (8mth choc lab) on our travels with us, i.e. we stayed with both sets of parents for a few days with a trip home in between. She has previously stayed at both homes before & loves all the attention she gets! However after the first day away from home she went off her food (she's been fed on Hills Science Plan for puppies for about 4 months now), which was very unusual for her as in true lab style she normally monsters it down! We thought maybe it was just because she was out of her normal routine & surroundings, however this went on for a few days where she would eat a little but not seem too interested (she was not given any treats either!). I tried to encourage her to eat by hand feeding which resulted in her eating a bit more but still not enough! We are back at home now & thought maybe she would settle back in & go back to her normal eating pattern - we were wrong, this morning she didn't even acknowledge that her food had been put down! Her stools are a little looser now than usual & she does appear slightly lethargic although she did still get over excited when we took her out for a walk (we did limit this as obviously she will have less energy due to lack of food!)! We have been given some JWB medicated food by a friend but I'm not sure whether to try this - any suggestions?
I'm hoping it's just because she was taken so out of routine & was maybe a little overwhelmed by all the attention she got & that she will be back to normal in a few days but just wondered if any of you could shed any light on the situation!
Thanks in advance, Gem

Has she had (or taken ;)) any tipbits during the visits as there is a lot a rich and unsuitable stuff lying around over the festive season isn't there? I would be inclined to not offer anything but water for 24 hours and then give fish and rice or chicken and rice for a couple of meals before gradually introducing her usual diet. I'm not sure what "medicated" food is but if it is prescription only, then, as with humans, it should only be given to the person it was prescribed for.

We are very careful not to give her any tipbits so we haven't given her any (not so sure on the family side though :() & obviously don't know if she's pinched any, although we do keep an eye on her most of the time as she does have a habit of taking stuff she shouldn't esp teatowels!! The food is apparently for dogs with an upset/sensitive stomach, not prescription, think the friend bought it for her dog from Pet Shop before it passed away!

Also she may be about to come into season and tis can often amek bitches feel funny, and I have had them go completely off the9r fod in one case, and with others loose their appetite to some extent. \Mine is a normaly foody breed.
