Arrived home about 1 and a half hours ago after our first New years Eve out for years to find our brand new Focus ST3 stolen (only got it Thurs before Xmas) and our home broken into. Several things have been stolen (including my sons' PS2 and ALL their games!!), but I now have to wait for the police to arrive. I have been told they are very busy what with all the fights etc breaking out so we could be in for a long night. Can't even shut the window they got through yet!
I am just glad my middle son decided to stay at his Nans tonight as this would have really freaked him out.
Saffy is now free to a good home!!!!! (only joking of course) - but I do wish she could talk.
Oh no poor you :-( It's a good job they didn't take your pc or whatever your typing on, your also very lucky they didn't take your dog too.
Good luck with the police :-) Hope you manage to replace the things that were stolen.
Sending positive {{{hugs}}} your way xx
Thank you Justlou - you are right things could have been worse. Saffy (and us) were unharmed. They left our pcs (I was relieved as all my photos are stored on them at the moment).
Still waiting for the police - I just can't go to sleep with the window open, although we can't secure it really in any way. I am getting very jumpy now though.
Thanks for your hugs and good wishes and I hope you had a good evening and have a great New Year.

Oh No!, that's awful.
The best way to reconcile what has happened is that nobody was hurt and material things can always be replaced. Not that that is much comfort at the moment.
What a really bad way to start the new year, but surely things can only get better from here!
Very best wishes to you.

Oh no!! What an awful thing to happen. Sending big {{{{HUGS}}}} to you all. xxx

What a horrible thing to happen - but as everyone else has said - possessions can replaced - and no one was hurt {{{{hugs}}}

Oh no, that's terrible!

We were burgled a few months ago and it's terribly disturbing, apart from all the hassle of dealing with police and insurance companies. Thank goodness none of you was hurt.
How terrible, but glad you and family are safe.
Hope your New Year rapidly improves

Yes, glad you are all safe but it makes you feel so angry that someone can just come into your home and do these things - take what you have worked hard for. Hope everything goes as smooth as possible for you and you get things back to normal as quickly as possible. Thinking about you.

Hope you managed to get to bed in the end and get some sleep. And get things sorted. Not the best time when everythings closed.
Take care
Lea:)
So sorry for you. :( Hope you got to sleep in the end. Echoing what others said, glad you are all unharmed.

That is truly awful

I think it would make me feel physically sick.

What a nightmare for you all

.....things can only get better from here. Hope you get back to normal ASAP and the b*stards responsible for this are caught and brought to justice....(whatever that is in this country) Big (((hugs))) from me.

Really feel for you Alexanders - As everyone else has said thank goodness everyone is unharmed and of course the dog. Make sure the police do a proper job in finding out who did this..Every contact leaves a trace.

An acquaintance of years ago had house broken into and she came home to find her dog running around inthe street. Could have been run over, stolen etc.
Thank you all for your kind wishes and yes you are all right, I am realising more and more how lucky we really were (hope you are right though about things can only get better :) ).
Police finally turned up at about 5.30 this morning (I think) and then I had to wait for the SoCO (?sp) who found a print from a gloved hand on a jewelry box but not much else. We have boarded up the window for now so I probably won't sleep too easy tonight either. We have unfortunately learnt our lesson the hard way and will now be tightening up on our security - as you say it could have been worse!
Thanks again,
Fiona
Sorry Fiona, if i'd have realised that you replied to my post early this morning i would have stayed on here and chatted with you until the police came :-D
Things can only get better ;-)
Awww that's really nice of you Justlou - I must admit I was at a loss at what to do as I couldn't clear up and was sooo tired I didn't really feel like doing much. A chat would've been lovely. Still thanks for the thought :).
Awww I feel bad now for leaving you.
Here have some more {{{{{HUGS}}}}} :-D :-D

How awful for you Fiona. At least all people and doggy are safe, that's the main thing. Possessions can be replaced. I know how horrible it is and am sending you cyber hugs.

Thanks. It is nice to come on here and escape from the horrible reality at the moment, so I am very grateful for all your kind comments and wishes. Have to try and sort out the insurance today - if they are open.
