Has anyone had any experience taking dogs skiing, particularly in France?  How did they cope and what was the attitude of the Resort?

thanks

no idea! I would guess its a no-no, think of implications of skier crashing into dog at speed...the damage would be serious! However I was once involved in sending a B/hound out to Switzerland to a chap who was a very good x-country skier & he trained it to pull him along:cool:

I ski all the time with my Lab but cross-country and on bush trails, not at ski resorts.  It is tricky on the downhills as she loves to run in front of me and do a big leap up in a circle in front of me.  Several times she has misjudged my speed and I have had to straddle her on the way down.  Good thing she is small for a Lab.

Ski resorts don't like dogs on the trails (or hills either I imagine) for obvious reasons; collisions with skiiers, holes in the trail from doggy feet and the dreaded "brown klister."

How bizarre taking a dog skiing, something i would never have thought of, they can go everywhere these days, my dog would love it in the snow but would be far too clumsy and end up in a heap underneath someones skiis.
