there is a lady in my village who is being cruel to her dog, not sure of the corrct way to put this but the lady has issues with her mental health and behaves more like a child and often walks around shoutiong out abuse ect... however in the last month she has taken to walikng her terrier type dog nearmy house and standing shouting and screaming abuse at it (at this point is next to her on the lead) and on two occasions has gone on to lift him in the air by his lead and kick him! I have reported to the rspca and they have done nothing! im at a loss to know what to do ive tried approaching her but she just raved at me then woke my family up for four days in a row at 5am shounting f*****g women im going to cut your thoat! outside my gate! im sure they are empty words as later in the day she will wave and say hello to you!

I would report to police empty words or not she shouldn`t be threatning you like that :(
Tell them your concerns and let them deal with it . You need to let them know what is happening.
Only for you own piece of mind.

Speak to council and also social services.  She shouldn't be allowed to continue abusing the dog and she shouldn't be making threats, she shouldn't be disturbing the peace at 5am.  Another case of care in the community not working by the sounds of it

A word to the Police might help this lady get the help and support she needs from other agencies too.  Sometimes people need help but can't ask for it and the more issues are brought to the attention of people who can help, the more likely things will change.

I agree. Report the abuse to the police.
I have had it and even tho they MAY be empty threats you never know with mental illnesses, which it sounds like this women has
Mental illnessses like pschitzophrenia, you can not predict what the person will do next.
She may well be 'known' to the police and they may be able to get her help/get in touch with the people that may well be helping her anyway and get it sorted.
I have reported someone to the police before now and the hospital that treats him so he has got the help when he has had a relapse, which this person did a few weeks ago and is now back in hospital for a few weeks to be stabalised.
I hope you are able to get it sorted.
Lea :)

Social services are more the people I would think that she needs reporting to if her mental health has deteriorated recently.  I hope that you will find someone who is able to help her as well as the dog as it sounds as though she needs it and in my opinion mental health isn't looked into enough in this country it's just pushed under the carpet.
