Topic Dog Boards / Breeding / HELP - What do I feed to firm up pooh
- By suejoh [gb] Date 29.12.05 10:43 UTC
2 days ago at least the puppies got very loose pooh's.  Then someone left the bin door open and they ate dont know what and everything has just been like water.   They are well in them selves tho so have not gone to the vet.  I stopped feeding them for a bit then yesterday afternoon started feeding  them with bread and water with an oxo cube.  They are still runny - but not so bad.  What do I do now?  Feel I need to start them on something more nutritious as it is worrying me - and they are HUNGRY.  Thought it should be rice and chicken but as they have never had that before will it just upset them more.

Before that I fed Skinner's puppy bics with raw mince and replacement milk - all mushed up.

Any advice gratefully received.

How old are they?

Personally I'd stop the bread/water/Oxo mix - chicken and rice would be better than that, and shouldn't upset them as much as Oxo could! A little plain mashed potato (no milk or butter) would be better, then gradually add in a little of their usual mix.

Please dont use an Oxo cube - it has loads of salt in it.

Fresh chicken with rice and a good complete food will soon sort them out.
