hi everyone

2 weeks ago i took ownership of a beautifull 2 year old samoyed called molly and what a lovely dog she is. she belonged to a freind of mine who is very ill will cancer and can no longer look after her. i have enquired about breeding her next year with a stud but have found out that she is registered with the dog lovers registration club and that the pedigree is not worth the paper its written on. ihave also read some of the posts on the forum regarding the club, the dog was originally bought from dogs 4 us which again i see has been mentioned. im not that bothered about her having a litter as she is such a beautiful and loveing member of the family but it would have been nice, is there anyway i can trace her sire's and dams and see if they are registered with the kennel club or is there anyway to register my dog with them now she is 2

thanks

Lee

Frankly her pedigree may be a complete work of fiction.  If she were able to be Kennel Club registered you can bet she would have been, as people still value KC registrarion over any other kind of documents.

I would join the breed club and attend some of their events.  You never know you may becoem so involved and fascinated in the breed that in a few years tiem you may decide to buy a well bred puppy to show or work, and if good enough breed from at a later date if the responsibility is something you care to assume.

Many breeders have or start off with a rescue dog, and then go on from there.

hi lee

sorry to hear of your disapointment. you should contact the breed club for sammys and learn more about the breed. you may find you would like another. they will help you with any queries you may have.

the breed club may also be interseted to know who the so called 'breeder' is who bred her in the first place. this way, they can steer new people in the breed away from buying unregistered puppies from this person.

thanks for the reply

the dog was purchased from dogs 4 us and as i hve been reading alot of stories about this place on the forum i see it was not a wise move for the previous owner to do. i will join the breed the club and thanks for your advice
