Where would you suggest the best place is to buy a stand dryer?

Many thanks for any help!

Depends what sort you want, so best to shop around.   2 or mine are Allbrooks, the third is a Liberty.  However, all of these operate on a system which uses carbon brushes in the motor, which wear out.  There are severla types around which don't use brushes.  One of the best places around for technical advice on these sort of things is Bobby Murphy at Technogroom up in Scotland.

If your'e anywhere near East Anglia you could visit Dezynadog in Kings Lynn - I bought my blaster/dryer from them and they were very helpful ( even threw in some grooming products for free :D) - they have a website and a catalogue too and are also at most of the big shows.

my dryer is a Tornado 93 which does my poodles and bernese mountain dogs, I find it great but I'm sure many other makes are just as good but you have to also consider the after sales service.  My friend has had a couple of problems over the years (she has a grooming business) and has said nobody can beat dezynadog or allbrooks for service, especially if you are relying on your dryer for business as they return it to you very quickly.

That was pretty much my point about the brushes/brushless motors - the ones without motors require a lot less servicing, as they don't have these parts to wear add.  Unfortuantley I already had mine before I discovered this.  Have had my Liberty about 10 years now, and it has needed about 4 sets of brushes,, the tornados (Allbrooks) have needed them changing less often.  Also have to consider where you live in relation to getting them serviced - Allbrooks are my lcosest, but it is still about a 4hour round trip, or you have to trust them to a carrier (and they are heavy so cost a lot to send) or take to a Ch show, and collect form another, which can be quite a wait.  This is why next ime I buy one I am going to look at the ones wihtout brushes (I think the Challenge series fit this requirments)
