Hi Sophie
Your girl will probably only want you around or whoever it is that usually looks after her. She will probably be looking for a dark place in a quite corner. Have you got the whelping box set up away from all the other people in your house if not do it now go and sit with her quietly and offer her your support. Make sure she has water to drink.
Do you have your breeders telephone number as she or he is the best person to help you.
hi thank you no there is no breeder to call as i have both dogs

Hi
Who did you get the dogs from they are the breeders who should be supporting you. There are a lot of people on her with expert knowledge who will come along soon I hope.
Have you seen any mucus or watery discharge yet?

Get the Bich to a nice warm quiet part of
your home, and make sure the Stud dog is
nowhere near to her, as you said you have
both Dam and Sire.
Hi Sophie
I think this is why the majority of dogs have their puppies at night, because it is quiet and there are fewer predators (other people, animals) around.
Definitely give her somewhere quiet that she can go to have her pups and keep other people away for the few few days.

Hi Sophie,
Hope everything is going okay.
It really is imperative to ensure your bitch has a quiet room in the house where people (even people she knows well, are not coming and going).
The consequences of not doing this can be catastophic....
Early this year, my bitch had a litter of 6 pups. The last pup in the litter was not suckling at all. I tried everything I knew but 1 hour later and I knew he still hadn't had his first feed. I was beginning to fret. Now, my bitch is a hugely sociable and trusting animal. I called to my close neighbour for advice. She has bred many litters and is an experienced lamber also. My bitch knows her very well. She gave me advice I had already tried and then offered to pop in to check over the pup I was concerned about. Within one minute of her entering the whelping area, my bitch went berserk (I can't think of any other word to describe this). She began tearing at the bedding with her teeth and paws, scattering the pups everywhere. It almost seemed like she was trying to bite the pups and I feared for their safety. I gathered them into my arms. Meanwhile she continued to scrabble frantically. My neighbour had the sense to leave the house immediately. My husband then had to physically restrain our bitch whilst I tried to attach one pup to the nipple. I think the combination of the threat (my neighbour) leaving and the suckling helped calm her. Within minutes all pups (including the one I was worried about) were suckling and mum was relaxed again. I, however, was a quivering wreck.
My neighbour later told me that when a bitch fears her litter may be in danger, she would rather kill the pups than allow the predator (the perceived threat) to harm them.
I was, and still am, furious at myself for being so stupid as to allow someone into her whelping area and still feel anxiety when I think of what "could have been".
Please ensure she has her own safe area. Perhaps she won't even want you there. You need to be the judge of that. My bitch needed me and my husband there - but nobody else!
Good Luck

Best wishes with new pups Sophie.
We used our spare bedroom for Tilly when she had her litter, made into puppy nursery !! For the first week she would only let me in the room, if my son (he is 18) went in she would growl at him. After the first week and she got used t the pups she was happy for him to go in. Tilly stayed in the spare room away from our other cavs until the pups were 5 weeks old them they moved downstairs but were kept in a puppy pen to stop them from getting stuck in small places !! Tilly wouldnt let the others near them until they were about 6 weeks old
