Hi guys, my little sister won the YKC handling class today at an open show and I was wondering how we send of her entry fo Crufts. We spoke to the secretary at the show and she said that she sends of her paper work to the YKC people and that they are mean't to send me a form to enter??? I know the entry for Crufts closes on 6th Jan so that doesn't give me much time. Has any else experienced this??? Kind regards Clare

Hey YKC will sned out the entry form etc.  My brother quaified earlier in the year and hasn't had his stuff though yet so they haven't sent it out to anyone.  It might be worth e-mail the YKC office next week after christmas is over to ask them :)

Another question to ask is does her dog also have to be qualified
to compete in YKC? If the dog hasn't qualified then she may have
to 'borrow' a dog.
Also I'd have thought it's better to ring the KC in this coming week.
As alot of companies do close over the Christmas period and don't open
until 4th Jan which only leaves 2 days til Crufts closing dates...

No the dog does not have to be qualified for it's class.  There can be crossbreeds in these handling classes now I believe.

check on the KC website however I think they are open from the 28th.  The only problem with contacting them this week is everyone is stressed out and alot of people will be contacting them.

Is that Senior or junior?  Senior handling came though ages ago! :)

Both. I think they came out around the same time and with the ykc stakes.

Hi guys it was YKC Junior handling 6-11 age group and the winner of each class qualified for a handling comp at Crufts 2006. She only won the class yesterday so the kennel club wouldn't send out the relevant form for Crufts yet. I'll give the YKC department a ring on mon to get it sorted. Thanks Clare
