Is it ok to use normal toothpaste for my staffie as dog toothpaste smells and her breath is worse after brushing

No, human toothpaste is not suitable as it is not designed to be swollowed which inevitably it will be when cleaning a dogs teeth.  Dog toothpaste does not smell that strong so I suspect the smell worsening is due to gingivitis and you disturbing the bacteria I think you should have this dogs mouth checked by a vet as tooth and gum disease can be serious if it gets into the blood stream.

After getting the dogs mouth checked by the Vet, why don't you try Fragaria tablets?? They are FANTASTIC at removing tartar and keeping teeth clean! I had a Bernese who didn't so much eat as swallow thing whole! Never chewed a blessed thing! Because of that she had terrible tartar which I had a job getting rid of. I used Fragaria and never ever had another ounce of tartar in her mouth!

Hi, I'm not sure if Pet shops do them, but if you go to Open shows, or Champ shows, or know anyone that does, you can get them there. If you know that there is going to be an Open Show on near you it is worth popping into one of the stalls. Or same with Crufts, or in the end if you can't get to a Show, I think you are able to buy it on-line form some suppliers? I always get mine at the Shows! All the best, Dawn X

you can use logic oral gel- it doesnt smell bad- they like the taste of it too. if for some reason the smell gets worse or doesnt go- take dog to vets to check whether theres any problems with her dentition. she may require a good scale and polish?
