Topic Dog Boards / Breeding / Homeopathic oxytocin ?

Hi can anyone tell me what the product is called that is a homeopathic remedy
which mimics oxytocin ?  A friend of mine brought some earlier this year for her bitch from a site in the UK, she was going to pass on the details but unfortunately she passed away, so I did not get to learn where to buy this from. Or if it works. Does anyone have any details on the product ?

a little further down the board there is a topic on raspberry leaf read that one ive never heard of a homeopathic oxytocin and i would be careful using something unless your vet says its ok you dont want to go upsetting things

Dorwest have a product called Caulophyllum, which helps labour, but it most only be given once labour has started.

And my hoeopathic book says 4 doses only at intervals of half an hour.

Caulophyllum can be used before labour starts. :-)

I use Caulophyllum 200c (one dose only) on our cows a week or two before calving with great results. It's very rare we need the vet for calvings now.  :-)  Our first years results are on here (under customer stories - Kath Barraclough)

can i ask why you want it is it to induce her if she goes over or fo a smoother labour because testing something out on your dog when she is in whelp might not be best obviously that is the only time you could use something like that but dogs have allergic reations to drugs and natural productsand sometimes foods the same as people and if you where worried about her not going into labour then maybe it would be better too just have the vet induce her i know here its only $100.00 if the need it its not that expensive i personally dont like using anything my vet hasnt told me its ok or has given it to her r told me to get it but i have noticed alot of people here do so i would perhaps ask your vet if its ok or even if its going to work because you dont want to go upsetting things

Dorwest state you should only give this to bitches once contractions have started and not before, if labour slows down then you give this to help speed it up again.

I have used this on one of my girls and it did work without any complications.
